I've a Hiking Website. NEED advice!

I've launched a hiking website last month. Now the site has about 50 subscribers. I keep them engaged through blog posts and other stuff.

The problem I've is there is no product on the market to sell to them
Any advice you can give me to make money out of my hiking site?

There is not one single information or physical product that hikers buy or would find useful? Truly amazing.

If that's the case, then make one.

    yes!

    SURVEY THEM...

find out what problems they deal with..

try to use open ended questions and look for repeated underlining problems in their responses.

Then create a product that fixes the problem..

You can create a video series or ebook...

You can create quick and professional surveys for free using google forms:

    https://www.google.com/forms/about/

    extra tip:
dont forget that you can also sell hiking equipment from Amazon or Share a sale...

you can do it with your email or with review posts...

    Try this...

I assume you are a hiker yourself. Right?

    What products/info do you buy?

What products/info do you wish you could buy?

Grab a pen and paper, and make the actual list - don't stop until you've exhausted every possibility.

Now take your list to Papa Google, and enter each one. Add "+affiliate" (no quotes) and "+partner" to each term. Go through the results. You should find multiple possibilities.

Do the same thing again, only this time make your list from things people do while hiking - fishing, photography, birding, whatever you can think of.

Go back to Papa Google and repeat the process.

You can also look on Amazon, REI, BassPro, Cabela's, etc. They won't all have affiliate programs, but if they don't at least spark some ideas, you need a new niche.

    What are you talking about?
There is bunch of physical products and ebooks related to hiking that you could be selling, starting from clothing, accesories to guides and ebooks on best hikings routes, places or even "how to stay safe in wilderness" which could be then categorized to different climates and so on, where risks are different.

Hiking can also be easily connected to mountain climbing which would open even wider variety of products.

All that I've come up with within the first minute, imagine what you can think of if you put your mind to it. Hiking is a big thing, you're not looking closely if you can't find any products.

Other that come to mind could be photography in wilderness or podcasts, pretty sure you can find something in there as well.

So your hikers don't wear shoes, need GPS/maps or binoculars?

Camping and hiking equipment, including things like GPS and solar USB chargers. There's also clothing like shoes and boots. Over-night hikes mean all sorts of camping supplies.

Travel can also be a match with things like walking tours and adventure tours. I'll also bet many people that hike are also interested in photography and videography.

These are all great suggestions. Just in case you were new to this and are not aware of what each of these suggestions is instructing, there are affiliate and partner programs that will allow you to sign up for their program and for each product, they will provide you instructions one how to create a link that will include your account number. You can write up you review of a particular product (like a tent), and then embed the link provided by that partner / affiliate with the tent review. If the reader is compelled to purchase that product (eg the tent), when they click the link, your affiliate account information will be carried with the link to the shopping cart website (affiliate). If the user buys that product, you will be credited with the sale and receive a percentage/rate for that sale. Also, connecting each of these suggestions, you could specifically target your users' regions for trails and products that are in those regions (Google Analysis or survey or signup information should provide this).

You can find products by typing Hiking + wholesale in the Google search bar and you will find places to buy cheap and sell more for profit. You can also go to click bank or an affiliate marketing site of your choice and promote the hiking and camping links to your subscribers. Hope this helped friend
