Default How many warriors translate their Info Products into other languages?

I was wondering if many of the warriors who produce info-products have any of their best selling products translated into other languages? I was thinking about translating some of mine, probably Spanish being the first language, but wanted to get some opinions or experiences of those who have already tried this route, and what kinds of responses you have gotten from translated info-products.

Thanks!

DTM

I don't do that (there might be gold in them thar hills). I do use translation plugins (IncanSoft offers one). They may not match up to real translations, but are decipherable, so therefore better than not using them.

I haven't by now but this is because I haven't launched any infoproduct by today. I just have my ebook saved on my computer.

I am pretty sure that once I launch I will get my ebooks translated into many other languages.

I have not done this, but it is on my list of things to do.

When the time comes, I plan on outsourcing to someone bi-lingual (English and whichever language the project will need to be translated to).

With something like that, I would not want to risk it with a plug-in.

As a native English speaker, I've seen plenty of copy that made absolutely no sense. That is exactly why you need a real person to translate.

One thing about translating info products is while your ebook may be in Spanish, will any sites or other resources they need be in Spanish as well? For instance, if you translated a product on using Squidoo, how beneficial would that be?

What about the payment processor, is that page in Spanish for them?

Next, I think customer support would be an issue as well. How would you respond to questions or problems?

I've been thinking about offering a support desk translation service but wasn't sure if there was really a market for that. I'm thinking that most of the translated products on the market now are translated by the product owner themselves.

I haven't really looked into it much and haven't translated any products yet because of point number one really.

If you have a stand alone product that doesn't involve non-spanish sites/resources and are able to collect and process their payment in their language as well as offer support, then why not try it.

This is kind-of what I was thinking but then again I don't know too much about what other language "infrastructure" there is on the web - I know that Japan has all of the things you would expect. Same with Israel - probably China and a few others.

So while it might be feasible to get the particular product turned into a translation, it looks like much of the infrastructure for the web is not there yet, plus English has always been sort of the "Merchants Language".

I guess that probably offering a translation could be a way to make your product better, but likely would still be sold on an English based web-site.

I am still hoping that there are few Warriors who have already done this and have some experience in the area to see if it is worth the expense of getting a translation done.

David, really good points. I've been thinking about translating one of my products into Spanish. The guy to ask about how a product like that would be received is Daniel Molano. He lives in Mexico City.

Thanks Paul,

I will PM him on the idea and see what he thinks of that market.
