For The Love Of God! Please Explain! Internet Marketing vs Digital Marketing Vs Content Marketing

I have Googled this and researched it and I still do not understand it.

Internet Marketing to me really is ALL of this. It is everything. It is the SEO. It is building the websites that sell the products, content marketing is a part of and under internet marketing, etc,.

So what is Content Marketing and what is Digital Marketing? Please give me an ELI5 explain. (Explain Like I'm 5)

One of the reasons I am so confused is because when I own a website, and I write a new post and publish it, is that not content marketing? I don't hink so. Content marketing would be me writing posts and guest posting them or trying to find nifty places on the internet to post those articles I write.

        Yes, I understand your confusion completely. But you can relax, they're all the same. There are a few more terms that fit under this nonsense too:

        Inbound Marketing
        Account Based Marketing

        It's all the same thing. I think it's really caused because different groups all wanna pretend to be the #1 authority...so they invent cute jargon like this to try and stand out. HubSpot for example, seems to really love calling IM "Inbound Marketing". It's all the same.

    Yes IM is the blanket term for everything related to marketing on the Internet (although in certain circles - like here - it has a small time Make Money online understanding)

    digital marketing is actually wider than IM embracing all digital based mediums - so phone apps or even kiosks that may or may not be delivered by way of the internet are included.

    content marketing to me is more of a technique within IM of using content to attract customers and traffic. So they all are slightly different

    Digital marketing being the widest which Internet marketing fits in (but does not include other digital mediums like phones) and then content marketing fits within Internet Marketing as a technique of using content to attract visitors and customers.

    An internet marketer would claim that everything is internet marketing.
    A digital marketer would claim that everything is digital marketing.
    A content marketer would claim that everything is content marketing.

    I'd say ignore all these fluff and just do what works.

    I don't think I ever really thought about this. Content marketing to me has always been anything where you create a piece of original content for the purpose building your brand, following, or sales. But it really doesn't matter I wouldn't think. Just do what works for you and call it whatever you want.

    if you google "internet marketing" then you get wikipedia calling it Digital Marketing.....

    then you have every one and their mother on social media calling it Content Marketing....

    out of the three, Internet Marketing is the ugliest term...

    by that i mean, it's associated with the underbelly of IM... get rich quick schemes and the like...

    I use them all interchangeably
