New to dropshipping - advice greatfully received

Hey guys,

My first post here so hi!

I am looking at starting dropshipping in the Pug/French Bulldog gift niche.

I have found a dropshipper and test purchased some items which arrived in 2 days and were good quality, I have also set up a shopify store and a FB/Twitter account which are building organically.

My first Facebook ad launched yesterday and is currently sitting with a CTR of 2.4% and a cost per click of £0.22.

Is there anything glaringly obvious that I am missing or should I just keep adding products to shopify and plugging away?

Thanks

Michael

just make sure your drop shipper is reliable.

when you figure out your ad and conversion rate then you'll have to deal with customer service..

and when someone buys from you and they don't get immediate satisfaction then they treat you like crap.

I used to dropship diaper cakes. you become the front line for customer frustration..

Again, just make sure your drop shipper is reliable!

    all the best,

Thanks guys, I am planning to test any suppliers before I work with them.

The FB as is very loosely targeted so once I get some metrics coming through I will start to finesse the targeting.

Just want to get my first sale now and get rolling!

Just waiting for your notification to check that you got your first sale. By the way..Which method you are taking for promoting your products?
Are you focusing for only Paid Traffics?

You are doing everything right in testing your supplier instead of going into it blindly. The most important thing to remember with dropshipping is that you are more or less handing over your entire sales/customer service reputation to someone else to make a couple of bucks. Not to say that it cannot work out but I am sure you understand the risks.

You said you already have a Facebook page that is growing organically which is great. Might I suggest you also seek out Forums relevant to the niche you are targetting, build yourself a small reputation by replying to topics and not just going in all salesman like, and you could make some more money from there.

    Best of luck.

If you can afford it, I'd look into Dropship Lifestyle. Fairly expensive course, but they leave no stone unturned and will provide one on one coaching throughout.

try to use more droppshipers, at least 5 and create your own opinion.
Do A/B testing which one is the best and brings the best results.

  • What about legal liability implications for that? Aren't you open to much bigger legal risks?

I started out dropshipping, but got sick of the backlash from customers when their goods didn't arrive on time or they were sent the wrong items. Affiliate marketing is sooo much easier for me, and frees up my time immensely.

Honestly your niche is on point , its very effective when promoted among facebook users , I think you are doing just fine as it is , the best way to get maximum income is to open another similar store with a different pet accessory , also optimize your ad well to reduce cpc and you should be on your way to even more profit. Well done

Thanks for this, that is exactly my plan, once I get this one moving properly I will look at another similar niche.

My CPC is now down to £0.08 and CTR is at 4.2% so I am happy!

      Thanks for the encouragement :-)
