Wasting Traffic; need landing page help

I have a landing page with a poor opt-in rate. I know what I want to do but not how to do it. Here's the page:

The Gap Method | Damon Verial - Gap Trader

What I want to do is
Remove the menu completely so I can put the email form above the fold.

Anyone know how to do this? Alternatively, if anyone can improve this landing page to get me a much higher conversion rate, I'd be willing to pay.

Thanks guys.

    ok here are my observations:

    • it looks more like a website not landing page
    • Those menus need to go too many links distract the visitor
    • The formatting of images needs to be better!
    • You need a stronger headline...
    • your sign up form needs to be above the fold!

    First, your using a themeforest theme. Many of the newer themes like X and Jupiter have options to remove the page headers/menus, even footers too, so you can have a certain page look more like a salespage. This still gives you the option to use one theme for a website/blog, but have dedicated product pages which look like traditional salespages.

    I'm not familiar with that theme. There's so many obviously. Personally, I prefer Jupiter. It's fast, flexible, and gives you the options I've mentioned above.

    Second, your salespage needs work. There's so much I'd change. In my sig link, there's my wso which links to my new salespage I just built. Take a look so you can see the difference. And yes, I'm using the Jupiter theme there. I'm sure just by looking at it, you'll see some major differences. And this is one simple way to improve your salespage--don't look at it too much, look at other better salespages more, and ask yourself why are they better. Then try to incorporate some of their ideas on your own page.

    For example, even though you have a blog, you want your salespage to drop the body margins and just be unlimited width. This will help the visitor focus on your content. And helps you use whitespace better.

    You've gotten some good advice here.

    When I design landing pages I always get my message and call to action inside 1024x768. Most people out there are using 1024x768 or larger monitors. In your case the call to action is the email submit. That needs to be visible on page load.

    Take a look at this screenshot of your landing page inside 1024x768. http://screencast.com/t/pfKaS28s54n

    As some others have said remove the logo, navigation, page title, and breadcrumb. The reason is you want your visitor to have very few options on your landing page. In this case you only want your visitor to do one thing and that is opt in.

    Wordpress is typically a bad choice for landing pages. The main reason is WP takes too long to load compared to simple html landing pages that are doing the same thing.

    Below is an example mock I made and use frequently. It's just a basic hero style landing page but is very effective. [HTML 5] Hero Style Landing Page Video/Optin - Pastebin.com

    Great tips already. A few more...

    Make your blue arrow point point to a book image, not words. Maybe replace the arrow altogether, or make a smaller arrow pointing to a larger book.

    Also never put "Sign Up Now" in the button text. No one wants to sign up for anything. Instead, put "Send me my report" or something similar.

    All the best to your new venture!

    This shouldn't be too hard...

    do you have access to your css files? If so add this code in your style sheet:

    #alterna-nav {
    display: none;
    }

    Please note however this will remove the header from all pages!!

    I am happy to help you out if you would like to email me...

    If not here are my tips:

    1) Remove the header
    2) Center the logo
    3) Center the Header
    4) Create more of a sales page... showcase more of the benefits!! What will they benefit from signing up!!
    5) Have a bigger sign up button - also a different colour

    Now if you are not use to website design I would recommend purchasing Thrive Themes (one of purchase)... I personally use this for my sales pages and it has a number of templates you can literally choose from, all you need to do is change the text.

    You can then choose which pages you would like to use the theme on so you don't need to worry about loosing your previous designs.

    If you need help I know how to redesign wordpress themes, so feel free to hit me up on email.

    Thanks,
    Sam
