Dear all, I would like to find out how you can get started as a copywriter for websites and started with small gigs? I have been writing sales letters & e-mails in my current job and would like to branch outwriting copy or telemarketing scripts? Does anyone have any idea where to start getting small gigs? |

Yups as Kat told, you can get help from Copywrting section here at WF. However, I hve started my career in copywriting with my personal blog. I have got a physical product and had written about it in my blogs to get more sales. From there I hve started and then I have learnt some tips on the Copywrting section here at WF and written more sales pages as well as articles to promote my own products as well as affilitate products too |

It's not easy buddy. It also depends on what you want to become. I know Brian McLeod has something new coming up, you might be interested in. Copywriting Training For "Non-Copywriters" | Copywriting Kickstart™ by Brian McLeod |

What I would do is find websites or sales copy that you think you can improve upon and contact the owner direct. Or even better, re-write part of the sales copy, send it to them and see what they think of it. I can tell that if someone can increase sales by improving my sales copies I'll bite their hand off asap. Rob |

Penny, some of those sites that have been listed are good options. I've had success with Elance and Guru and, if you bid on enough jobs, you'll surely get one. You could also start by offering to do one for little or no money for someone. Maybe a fellow newbie will work with you and you can offer to do it for a small % of the sales rather than an upfront fee. In the beginning you might have to be willing to go low.
