I just wanted to point out that you should probably be very careful about who you add as friends.

I'm sure there will be people asking a lot of warriors to be their friend just to build up a reputation. A lot of new people in the forum may look at all the friends someone has and think they can trust them. The same thing happened with the number of posts in the old forum.

Just think how that will affect YOUR reputation if that someone turns out to be a troll or scammer. It will be guilt by association.

So, just make sure you know who you are adding as a friend. As for me, I am making sure that I KNOW who you are before I add you as a friend. Please don't get insulted if I don't add you because it doesn't mean I am snooty, a jerk or anything else. I just want to be careful!

By the way, if you are my friend and I haven't added you, please let me know because I am having trouble remembering who is my friend or not. AND if some of my friends don't quit making fun of me, I will delete you from my friend list. I DO have feelings you know! Well, I USED to have feelings anyway.

Take care!

      "Friends"

Bright light almost blinding, black night still there shining,
I can't stop, keep on climbing, looking for what I knew.

Had a friend, she once told me, "You got love, you ain't lonely,"
Now she's gone and left me only looking for what I knew.

Mmm, I'm telling you now, The greatest thing you ever can do now,
Is trade a smile with someone who's blue now, It's very easy just...

Met a man on the roadside crying, without a friend, there's no denying,
You're incomplete, they'll be no finding looking for what you knew.

So anytime somebody needs you, don't let them down, although it grieves you,
Some day you'll need someone like they do, looking for what you knew.

Mmm, I'm telling you now, The greatest thing you ever can do now,
Is trade a smile with someone who's blue now, It's very easy just...

PS: if you recognize this your probably old too.

Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer

No, but seriously, I was willing to put all of your personality challenges on one side because I like to see through the bad stuff and just concentrate on the wholesome inner core values.

Not really, the truth of what happened was that I reported all of your posts, with the infraction being 'shouldn't all of these internet marketing posts be in Mind warriors?' and the moderator's response was to punish me by hacking my account and sending you a friend request.

I hope you (and anyone reading) knows when I'm being cheeky and taking the mick :p I've tested you out with enough jokes over the last year or two, and anyone who is weird enough to understand my twisted humour deserves a friend request.

Actually as far as the friends requests goes. I leave them in queue unless I have talked to them a lot on here in PMs or threads or.... people that I have talked to in chat every week where...

Kevin brings naked cowboy pictures to the chat every week...and his mangy chicken...

I get to hear Fullman snore every week.

Judy just comes with whips and chains to dominate all us males...

          Jason brings friends (puppets)

Terry cusses often as much as I do...seem to find the same things funny...like Jason being abused...

Johnny gives me freebies (don't ask)

George tells us he is god

          etc etc....

That's good advise. For sure we'll get
        those with "MySpace Mentality" trying
to make friends with anyone with over
        100 posts.

"The Top Secret Friend Formula To
Boost Rep Power Using Friends Exposed!"

Personally, my strategy on friends is
to find those with the letters "on" in their
name, and their name has more than
        10 letters. My programmer decoded
the secret formula to obtaining more
rep power - I tested the technique
out and found 2 people that fit the
above, became friends with them, and
saw that I had 4 rep points right away.

        It's amazing!

Riley have you been at the Sake again?

Chris isn't Friends a television programme?

Nathan, the problem is most people won't read a disclaimer, and assume you are like them. There are a few scam artists here, and they have friends who are less well known as scam artists. But, like minded people often work together.

I know it will never happen, but how do we ALL know who these scammers are? I certainly don't. I am adding friends based on a few factors, but it's not impossible that I could inadvertantly add a scammer/spammer.

The only recourse we have in that situation is to immediately drop them as a friend, and move on.

Where is this friend request system? I want make sure not to add anyone, since Mommy said not to talk to strangers.

Plus in business, the last thing you would want to do is meet new people.

I'm not sure how people are supposed to know everything their "friends" are doing. Maybe we should just assume that since there are some scammers around here, we can't trust anyone.

This reminds me of a non-customer who wrote in to say she wanted to buy my product, but she had bought something else from someone else who lives in my home state and was unhappy with that purchase, so she couldn't trust me. That's fair, since all the millions of us here know each other personally.

Actually, Pete, I am saying that if someone gains a bad rep around here, I don't want people to associate me with them. By putting someone on your friend list, the assumption is that you are, in fact, friends with them.

Everyone I have put on my list, I have gotten to know and I have respect for them. Does that mean they are all angels? No! What I am saying is that some unscrupulous people may try to get a lot of friends so that they LOOK legitimate. That is why I am saying to make sure you know the people you put on your list.

It's the same way that some people tried to make a ton of posts so they could look like senior warriors in the old forum. New people would look at the number of posts someone had and assume they were a trusted person if they had a lot.

Anyway, I will only be putting people I know on my friend list BUT after that picture Kevin Riley posted about me, he will be the first to come OFF my friend list!!! Aww, heck, who am I kidding? I will be leaving Kevin on the list simply because he's well-known and I need the "benefits by association" I get by having him on there!

                        Hi Vince,

And do I detect a softening of the attitude towards the new forum and the Web 2.0 thingies - what with the avatar (picture) and the friends function? Sometimes we need to be dragged kicking and screaming into new technology for our own good...

Actually I took you on Rat...cuz you knew all the lyrics to that Prince song...which was damn impressive. lol.
It's one of my (many) weirdisms...as a youngster, for a long time I had no father figure and spent a lot of time on my own listening to music...consequently I ended up becoming 'well read' in a wide range of lyrics to songs. I even found a father figure (by proxy) in one particularly wise lyricist.

This later developed into a love of wise quotes and sayings. I might be one of only a few strange people in the world almost purely raised and educated by rock stars, by proxy.

I once played a game of 'name that tune' with an ex gf by shoving a huge stack of LP inlays with lyrics on them and told her to start with one (ungeneric) randomly chosen word and if I couldn't name the tune, album and band with the one word, then she would add the second word, third etc. Out of hundreds I got most in one or two words.

Kind of strange I guess and not particularly useful or monetisable, but I presume it has a little more value than being able to recite every word of 'Friends' or some other ghastly TV fantasy. And whereas my hero was someone I didn't know, I made sure I'm my own son's hero and the person he turns to for wisdom and guidance - and that's all that really matters in the big picture :-) So it aint all bad...

Here are two of my favourites from that surrogate father figure -

(I'm pretty sure you'll appreciate these two Vince)

STIFF LITTLE FINGERS Lyrics - STANDS TO REASON

STIFF LITTLE FINGERS - THE PRICE OF ADMISSION LYRICS

Oh I'm sure you'll try to get your revenge Runza, but you'll never quite catch up to me. You're way to easy a target!

Yeah Chris - ever since I added you as my friend I've had this hinky feeling in the pit of my stomach
"Dadgumit, Beulah, give me your dadgum hinky so I can blow my nose!" Ooooookay, so how did something like that get in the pit of your stomach?

    Kevin,

Nobody believes that crap about the picutre being a photo of me. Everyone knows that YOU are the only person who could possibly be THAT hairy! Add that to your proclivity for hamsters and dresses and I think we all know which little piggy had the roast BEEF and which one didn't!

Well, I guess that's just a "Rogers" trait though -->
