What's your Video Marketing Work Flow?

I'm just about to launch a squeeze page for a new product and have made a cool video in screenflow. However my knowledge of video production for the web is more than limited. I know the theory that the bigger the file the longer it will take to download and that will have people abandoning my site left right and center. However I'm also aware I can't just throw it up on youtube as it's a commercial video selling my own product.

Just a few questions for you then:

1. I'm using wordpress for the website and was wondering what is the best
free plugin to show off this quicktime file?

2. Is quicktime the best format to upload?

3. What would be a reasonable file size for a 10 minute screen recording
instructional video?

Can Warriors who are pro's a video please list their work flow process for web video optimization?
i.e. steps taken, file formats, recommended file sizes, hosting the final files, players used etc?

Think I might have to make a product out of this subject, as nobody seems to know the answer to it? Is there anyone else getting stuck with the same problem as me?

    Screenflow > iMovie > Youtube.

You have been misinformed about having a commercial video on Youtube. There is NO problem whatsoever in that. (Have you really looked at that website, and how did you determine that?)

Also a 10 minute video sounds long... anything over 5 minutes is going to have to be rather captivating. Is yours really so good, viewers will not be able to leave?

Now since this is your first video challenge I would strongly suggest you look to simplify this process for yourself, so you can repeat it as often as possible, and IMHO YT is the way to go. From iMovie it will convert to MPEG4 and upload directly to YT. Use the wide screen feature for more professional look, then once uploaded embed it on your blog.

A lot of video creators get caught up in useless technical information where they feel they must host themselves. This just manifests unnecessary delays and delivery challenges. Now there are times when self-hosting is a good thing, (as I do as well) but look to hosting sites like YT, Viddler, Vimeo etc, as your FIRST option.

If you don't want the video to be shown on youtube what player + file format do you tend to use?
