Warriors - STATE it and DATE it ... Today !!!

Hey warriors

So I know that many people set goals, well if you're not then you should be !

Im talking not only business goals but personal goals ... BUT

Here's the thing I believe many people miss and I believe it to be of HUGE importance. When you set goals you MUST also set a date to accomplish that goal.

Without a date to complete or achieve the goal then it is merely an idea that you have. I just today have reflected on my year so far, my growth and where I now want to be.

So i'll get this started, STATE your goals and DATE them ( by the way, you must work towards your goals and BELIEVE you can achieve them )

Well my goal in October of last year in 2008 my goal was to make $1 online and to build a successful blog and start an email list. All of which I have achieve but now I REALLY want to step it up....

1 ) Online business income of $10,000 per month ( recurring income )

2 ) To clear my loans and credit cards debts completely

3 ) To build an email list of 10,000 with a strong relationship

4 ) To employ at least 1 full time VA

Those four goals I will achieve by March 1st 2010 .. This gives me around 6 months to do it.

( bear in mind I am no where close to these goal, they are HUGE for me.. to put it clearly my recurring income is currently at around $800 pm )

And one final goal, more personal this one .... I just asked my mum what she wants in March 2010, the answer she gave believing I wasnt being serious was for something costing around $13,000.

5 ) Give my mum $13,000 on March 1st 2010

So there we have mine guys, my goals laid out for all to see and be held accountable to. But not just goals .. DATES to be achieved by !

Very important

Lets hear yours then my friend, I'm looking forward to reading !!

Dean

P.S - If you don't believe you can do it, then you wont !

So true... and if possible, schedule it sooner rather than later. The human mind will make a task a monumental challenge the farther away it is, regardless of how it simple it may seem, because it dwells on it, thinks about e tc.

    Okay, I'll bite!

My first goal was to stick with my affiliate marketing plan for 3 months, and make my first sale online.

It's been almost 2 months, i've stuck with it and made my first sale (and some adsense with it ).

My current goals have more to do with productivity.. But your post inspired me to make a financial earnings goal.

My goal is to be making $100 a day by Christmas. I pick Christmas b/c it's a memorable date. I pick $100 a day because I feel it's easily attainable.

    Let's do it!

Couldn't agree with you more... Dean.

We need to work with short term goals leading to the long tern goal. We need to set a desired target and increase it a little bit more so that even if we don't reach that we'll reach high enough.

One thing I find is, if we keep the target/goal a secret to ourselves, it is less effective. Sharing with others near and dear, gives us all the more drive to put in more than our best to prove ourselves.

Well, you have already done that by sharing with us here.

    All the best.

I'm new to IM so the thing preventing me from setting a goal such as, "Make $100 per day by Jan 1st, 2010," is that I'm unsure as to whether the methods I use can realistically allow me to accomplish that within the given timeframe even if I dedicate say 2hrs per day. I'd have enough confidence to set a realistic goal if there were a list of IM techniques somewhere that shows approximately how much one could possibly make after 6 months of 1hr/day dedication or something like that.

That being said, if I worked diligently toward a goal of making $100 by Jan 1st 2010 but didn't meet that goal, I'd probably still be making a lot more per day by then than if I hadn't set that goal in the first place due to the effort put in.

Don't you see that with that mindset you will not make the $100 a day you want ??

You are really limiting yourself by saying you cant set that goal ....

Set the goal .... Give yourself a good timeframe to work to ... MAKE IT HAPPEN !

Seriously the difference it can make setting a goal compared to not is HUGE... I know it can seem hard at first but just learn and work to a proven business system.

It doesnt have to be a monetary goal, you could say ... I will have an email list of 500 by January for example or whatever you choose.

You must have something to work towards, if you fall short of the goal ( Which you SHOULD NOT be even thinking ) then I guarantee you will have achieved a hell of a lot more than if you do not.

      Bets of luck !!

      Lets see those goals

I've never really set goals. I just work on my products and projects, completing them and then embarking on new ones. I don't have monetary goals. I build and build and then build some more ... it works for me.

Great thread I tend to have daily goals, weekly goals, monthly goals and yearly goals. The daily ones will be something like - write 5 articles, build 10 backlinks, add some content to a site. My goals for this week were to write 15 articles, set up an autoresponder, build lots of backlinks and learn as much as I can from my new War Room membership. I reached them all My longer term goals are as follows:-

-Rank highly for numerous keyword phrases
      -Build a substantial list
-Branch out into 1 or 2 more niches
-Be Making $1,000+ per month by the end of 09

I'm working every day to achieve these things, and by being here at the WF, I'm getting the best education possible. I know I can reach my targets, and I'm going to be elated when I do

Kevin Riley, one of my favorites (I won't call him a guru because he would shoot me), just issued a challenge on his blog for readers -- challenging them to post goals for September.

At the end of September there will be a "special accountability" session.

I have found these kind of special action plans to be very effective. These work much better for me that monetary goals. Making the plans public are great.

Don't know if it is ok to give you Kevin's blog so I won't.

    Hey

This is cool, some really great goals ... I particularly like the BIG ones

Just my personal preference that I like to aim big, I find you achieve a lot more than thinking small...

Of course I do not mean in the sense of when you are just starting out online....

I tell people and in fact my first ever blog post in October last year stated I wanted to make just $1 online. That is because 10 months ago I had never made a $1 !

As soon as I made $1 and proved to myself it could be done I said in 2009 I wanted to generate $50k online... Well im just a few thousand off that and confident of hitting my goal ...

So now those BIG goals that I have set myself for the next 6 months ...

Good luck all !! Aim high and work your ass off

Best of luck, keep em coming ! !
