I've posted here before about strategies I use for offline marketing (it's mostly seminar / speaking related) so without too much repetition since you can see those other posts/threads I've made/started, here's some info you may find useful. This last Tuesday I spoke for 3 hours at a local association of realtors. My primary purpose was an "info-gathering" mission to test market some SEO related offline products. I put together an info-packed presentation on SEO for realtors. A paltry 9 people showed up, here's the results (not counting whatever sales or referrals that may come later): 1 person bought a digital product I was test marketing: $47, that makes an 11% close rate for that gig. I was paid for 10 attendees (don't ask why) at $29 each - $290.00. $337 in revenues for 3 hours = $112.33 per hour paid to me to test market and to gather information on a niche market. Of course, this won't be my only test, and frankly, I would have spoken for free, and if my testing shows a consistent enough close rate and strong enough interest in other offerings I have in mind, I'll roll out those other products & services. BTW, what if I get larger groups in future talks? And, what if I had the same close rate and paid-fee-per-head last Tuesday, but had 50 or 100 people? You do the math... I tell you this to (hopefully) inspire you. And to give you real-world info & results, & not just some "nice theory/ideas". NOTE: I will endeavor to answer all questions posed if you have them, but I won't be able to monitor this thread in real-time, so thanks for your patience and understanding. ![]() ALSO NOTE: others may have alternative views positive or negative pro-or-con... I don't know that I'm interested in getting involved in any debates or fending off thread-hijackers. ![]() I'm just posting some results from the real world, trying to contribute and give back to the WF, and hoping this inspires you to take action. Best, David |

I agree. I am giving a workshop later this month on marketing and sales process engineering to a group of business owners. There are nearly 300 pre-registrations. I waived my speaking fee because I expect to generate 15-20% closing rates on $10K - $100K per engagement.

Very nice. I have always wanted to but never had the guts to speak about internet marketing in front of a very large group. I helped a good friend of mine get leads for his "make money at home" seminar and the results were out of this world. The info he shared was basic by anybody on this forums standard, but the people ate it up and the upsell was tremendous. Not to mention the $50 cost to attend times 120 people was a good day in itself! |
