I was wondering if anyone might happen to know of any good websites that I can market adult toys to women at?

I ask this question because I know that women make up the largest share of buyers in the world and I want to capitalize on that. I have and adult toy store website that I think would take off if I were to advertise and market to women for the reasons just mentioned. I however am having a hard time finding any websites that are visited most often by women and that are adult friendly.

Pinterest is good, but they do not appear to be adult friendly. Many of the products that I would like to sell from website are products that women are most likely to buy.

It has been suggested by one Youtube video that I blog and that is not a bad idea, but in order for me to do that, I have to generate some sales through the adult toy store website that I have and I think that that selling that kind of stuff to women is my best bet. I am just having problems finding websites like Pinterest that have a high percentage of female visitors and are adult friendly.

I have been googling the subject trying to find websites that fit that criteria, but at the moment I am having a hard time finding anything.

I am hoping that people here might have some suggestions. I would particularly be interested in hearing from the ladies that are on this forum as to what they might suggest and recommend.

I'm unsure about whether or not I can post adult links in the main forum here. Probably not. I'll have to give you some general options, just to get you started.

    Reverse-Engineer.

    Run your competitors through SimilarWeb.com
Take a look at where the traffic comes from, and target those locations.

    Erotica.

Not to generalize unduly, but ladies are the predominant audience for erotic literature. You'll find one site in particular has most of the traffic in this area. Reverse-engineer them, as above, to get more sources, and also target the rest of the platforms in this arena.

    Traffic Trades & Paid Links.

Hop on over to GFY.com and negotiate some traffic trades with sites of similar visitor levels. While you're at it, buy yourself some hard-coded links on female oriented sites with decent Google juice; good for SEO, good for exposure (direct traffic).

    Affiliates.

Once you learn how to drive your own traffic, setup an affiliate program; it's pretty easy. Avoid attracting newbies, and instead target Whales (big-hitters, capable of sending volume traffic from established websites).

    That should get you started!

You need to do your reseach. Yout better off learning to find it yourself than other people telling you. Sure you can get some ideas but in the end do the demographics of the audience line up with what you are looking for?

Go to the keyword planner and research targeted keywords and research them in google to find your answers... At google plug the site in quantcast and alexa and see it things match!

What you said is entirely my point, I have tried in the past to learn and understand as much about women as I possibly can and while I am not an expert on them, I think that I have learned a lot about them.

Based upon what I have studied in the past about women, I think that there is a high likelihood of them buying products like the one's that I am mentioning and more. The adult toy thing is for me just a starting point and is something that I need to make some money right now.

The problem that I am having is that I just can't find too many websites that are popular with women and that are adult friendly.

Pinterest has a high percentage of women visiting that site. Up to 84%, but as I understand it from reading their standards and practices, they do not allow pictures and video's that explicit.

I have seen some of the images online relating to marketing adult toys and from what I am seeing, they show pictures of things like men using a penis enlarger or something of that nature.

Since these products are of an adult nature, I need to find websites like Pinterest that have high percentage of women, but who at the same time allow close up images and video's of women actually using the products that are geared towards them.

The idea behind it is to sell the sizzle. I am only doing this for the money. If I can get that kind of content out there along with what reviews I can from women who actually use such things, then I think that my chances of actually getting sales from the adult toy store website will increase dramatically.

Because women are more emotional than men and tend to make most of their decisions to purchase based on their feelings and intuition, I see no other way than to use such kinds of content. If I can show women achieving pleasure from using such devices, then I think then they are much more likely to buy as it shows to women that other women are achieving the pleasure that they seek through such means and that is what is called social proof and that says a lot more than facts and figures to them.

If I were selling things like lingerie, clothes, makeup and cosmetics, purses and handbags, and other things of that nature that women tend to buy and use all the time, then that would make things a lot easier to advertise on places like Pinterest.

What I am trying to do is get this stuff in front of them and tripping their emotional 'Buy now / just gotta have' buttons, but it is a lot easier said than done.

The main thing here is to just get it in front of them. Having good content and products means absolutely nothing if the people that you are trying to sell to don't know what you are selling and how it might benefit them.

I learned a long time ago that people tend to buy things based upon what they value and perceive to be important. That is why men tend to buy things like nice cars. When men buy nice cars and other related things, they are hoping to impress people (especially women) with it as it shows status and that is important.

The problem is that men and women tend to have different wants and needs and buying patterns. Paco Underhill talks about that in his book 'Why we buy'.

What I am trying to do here is apply many of the same concepts that people like Marti Barletta talk about in her book 'Marketing to women', but it is a lot easier said than done.

This is in my book all about positioning and branding.

Im in a woman dominated niche and pinterest is the SPOT!

that being said, im not in the adult niche...

why not target pinterest via PPV?

or any female dominated website for that matter..

i'd have 4 to 6 squeeze pages on a rotator and see which combination of target - squeeze page converts best.. Use prosper to track how the traffic behaves...

    good luck,

Groupon appears to be the dominant source of traffic for adult toys. But, I would assume you have to have very good margins to see a profit on that platform.

I was going to mention erotica books, sites, etc, but Tom beat me to the punch. That's where I'd start.

I know you're talking about adult toys for women and that's why you're fixated on selling them to women. But, I wouldn't rely solely on the idea that "women make up the largest share of buyers in the world" when selling. Because what actually matters is who is buying the products that you're selling. And I'm willing to bet a good segment of your target market will actually be men. In that cases, I would look to JV/partner with products that revolve around "spicing up relationships".

I assumed you needed to only attract the ladies, but if this is a general store we're talking, branded toward both genders, then you may find men are your biggest buyers. I dug up some interesting data here.

I agree that men are likely to buy as well, but I think that because women make up the largest market share in the world that they are much more likely to buy such products. Women buy almost everything. Targeting women is my best bet as they make up over 84% of the market share in the world and account for most of the purchases made.

I second Pinterest because of the gender of their audience...unfortunately, I can't attest to the lifestyle of that audience.

To me, is seems as if you've reached a point of paralysis by analysis. And I'm still seeing the same fatal flaw in your logic. The question isn't "where can I advertise adult toys to women?" The question is "where can I advertise adult toys to women that want to buy adult toys?"

For example, Pinterest has a huge user base of women, but how many of those are actively looking for adult toys? From what I understand, none if Pinterest doesn't allow posts about them.

I could be wrong considering I've only read two of your posts but it looks like your lead generation strategy is more of a quantity over quality method. 100 targeted leads are likely much more valuable than 1,000 untargeted leads.

Marketing adult toys to women is fundamentally no different than marketing anything else. Identify a problem/need, identify people who have that need and where they are looking find a solution, develop/find a product/service to solve the problem/need, present an offer to the people who are actively looking for it.

My problem is that I just don't know how to reach the type of women that are likely to buy because I don't know where I can put my ads up at that will get me the results that I want.

Having the best product / service in the world means nothing if the people that you want to sell to don't know what you are selling and don't trust you.

The first step is finding the websites that will allow me to post my ads at. If I can find those places, then I can post my ads and see what kind of results I get and can then fine tune it from there with things like blogs and other related things.

It's no different than if you wanted to buy a computer or a printer for example. You might know that you wanted to buy a computer or a printer, but if there are no retailers or websites that sell such things, then you would be out of luck in buying such things. I use that only as an example.

I have been looking all around the Internet for places that I can place those ads at that are adult friendly and that are likely to have a high percentage of women frequenting those sites, but so far have had no luck in finding anything. Pinterest is the closest that I have come, but their policies seem to prohibit the kinds of ads and images that I want to place.

Tumbler according to one website is adult friendly, but I don't think that it gets the kind of traffic from women that I am looking for and need and Facebook seems to be very unfriendly to such kinds of ads and postings as well. Facebook would be a great place to advertise on as everyone seems to know about Facebook. They have good traffic volume, but I'm not real sure as to how many of them are women and they certainly don't allow the kinds of ads that I am looking to place.

Facebook would be a great starting point, if they allowed such things and I was sure that they had as much of a female presence on their website as Pinterest does, but unfortunately they don't allow such things.

I would also have to have additional avenues and places where I could advertise as well. I have looked at Google and that is a good place to start, but as I understand it I would have to be writing blogs talking about things like love, romance, relationships and sex to make that work.
