I realize this just got bumped back up, but congratulations Alex!
I know people have already suggested making lists, but I'll share with you what really helps me. My list is always on paper, and right in front of me at my computer. I don't make a digital document because I want it staring me right in the face all day. It makes me feel bad when I'm not working, and so it makes me more productive. Personally, I make a separate list for things I want to do daily, weekly, monthly, etc. Also: Make everything very specific. For example, never have "write articles" or "post on forums" on your list. Instead, everything should read like "write 3 articles of 350-500 words on x topics", and "create 3-5 posts of substance on x forum, y forum, and z forum". The best non-list related thing I have done is share my goals with my fiancee. I know that she's going to ask me, "Did you get that thing done that you said you would?", and I really don't want to say "no". Having that in the back of my mind is just a little extra motivation. |

Great Going Alex. To add to what others have said....great decision to pursue your dream and gain online success. I am planning to make the same decision in the next 6-10 months to either go part time or full time into online marketing. I cannot wait to break off from my current full time corporate shingles
![]() Did you have enough passive income coming in before you decided to do this full time? you must have had some support system or rainy day foundation that helped you decide. care to share? Wishing you the best |

Have a computer that is just for work, don't put any games or other distractions on it.
Set aside "goofing off time" Allow yourself some goof off time for every hour of solid work. Also, if you check your paypal account more than once an hour, thats goofing off. |

Hi Alex,
surpised no-one has mentioned 'Getting Things Done' by David Allen. The book is actually ranked #182 in the Amazon bestsellers list which speaks for itself. It's a great time management system. Check it out. Best wishes Steve |

First of all, I'll say congratulation to you in taking the first step to success,
people are always afraid of quitting there day job to go online fully, but you know what? they will never be able to make anything online because they will never take any action. Burn all the bridges what i mean by this is that you need to get rid of all excuses you need to have which can stop you from not starting your own online business, because all these excuses will be creating fears in you which might stop you from making money. let me tell you something about myself in 2003, when i was about to quit my job that offers me about 2500usd in a month to go online fully , the only question that people are asking me was that have i got another job that will pay me more than that. i was confused because nobody ever seen what am seeing, so a question came across my mind which is why do people think the same way so i decided to make a difference. today i am a day trader and also an internet marketer and am earning more than 12500usd in a day (on average). l am not trying to brag with this but am telling you this because if was listening to what people are saying then i will never be able to make as much as am saying now. I wish you best of all luck in your journey to richness |

I hope to see more threads with the same subject. That's wonderful! Everyone that quits a job for IM should post "I left my Job today!"

Also, you are *correct* when you make a mention of being *specific*! For instance, whenever I do homework, instead of writing "Do Homework Today", I'll write, "Complete Human Resources homework", which is a lot more "direct" and to-the-point...! | |

Congrats, I left my "job" on 2005, but I started my website businesses in 1998. So I took me several years and several false starts to get the be a full-time IM. But I agree the hardest thing to do is to manage your time.
I agree with the above post, the best thing to do is to power block your time. This means you need to create a daily sheet and plan when you are going to do what. For example, 6:00 - 7:00 get up, exercise, shower, etc. 7:00 - 8:00 Check email, reply to email, etc. 8:00 - 9:00 return telephone calls, make outbound sales calls, 9:00 - 10:00 Prospect for JV partners, etc. I have found that is best way to manage your time. Also, on Sunday night take the time to map out your Monday morning activities and what you want to accomplish for the week. Hope this helps, Thanks, Andy Quote:
