Discovered this handy site today. After checking the value of some of my internet real estate I found out I am not doing so bad.

    Wow! Thanks!

I was already feeling pretty rich today because I met an older lady at the grocery store and she wanted to hold my baby and I let her and it just made her day. Then I gave some money to kids collecting for Special Olympics.

Now, I check out that site and I find out that not only is my site worth $10,000+, but I apparently have 240 pages on it!!! I had no idea that it had that many!

    This just made my day!

    Love,
    Shannon

Sorry to burst your balloon but that tool doesn't exactly work. It just picks up on things like PR, alexa rating etc.. and make a number from that. Your website is worth what someone will pay for it, and that is usually based on projected profits and potential.

      Well said.

      To the OP:

Do yourself a favour & stop using these valuation
      sites.

When I was still a newbie, I bought a domain (which
I thought was good) & I checked how much it was
worth on a couple of these sites...

The value was over $5000 (lol) & this domain wasn't
even hosted at all (That means that it didn't have any
      content).

After seeing this I started trying to sell it.
The highest they offered me was $25... lol

Hey bud you don't really think I believe that site do you
I just though I made my day when I came across it. You can even embed your value on you site and watch it grow. Look further down there page for the code

        Add a article a day
        cling
        another
        cling
        2 articles
        grr

        cling = $1 coin
        grr = $100 note

I WISH the values were for real cause I could sell all my sites and walk away with over a million in my pocket, just one of my sites is worth 250k LOL, and their numbers are so screwed it told me I got 15k visitors in July to that site LOL, I had 7k, they are a little off on their numbers...just a little.

haha, thats a pretty cool website but its easy to trick.... I have one of my domain names that I run allmost all my redirects through for my stuff... there is nothing on the domain exept for the redirects, infact the index page just says "test".

    They valued that one at:
    $124,266!

Another website that is acuatlly worth 100K they valued at
    $21,829.8!

haha, I have a domain name that is for all my tracking with prosper 202, they valued that one at:
    $104,566.2!

then several of my other sites that get almost no traffic and make me $0.00 they valued at around 3k a piece.

So the good news is, I have a few websites for sale if anyone is interested! lol

Wow, that thing is all over the place. I have some sites I would sell for 10% of what they claim they're worth, and some others that I wouldn't sell for ten times what they say they are worth.

Just for kicks, I ran through some sites:
    Twitter.com - $642 million
    MSNBC.com - $12 million
    TVGuide.com - $25 million
    California.com - $127,000
    DMOZ.org - $25 million
    Blogspot.com $3.42 billion
    Poker.com - $818,000
    Facebook.com - $5 billion
    Whitehouse.gov - $7 million

    and WarriorForum.com itself... $32.48 million

Yargles. Mine is close to 5k. I must speak realistically now. It is what I could get for it. Probably $125 at best. But, I can always dream a little.

In my experiences (and let me tell you I have not been on the net sens 1995) sites that calculate your sites value will always be way off.

This is my experiences with that.... Let me no what you fiend out friend

Valuation tools are just link bait. They give naive webmasters high valuations to get them all excited. These webmasters then talk about it on their blogs or a forum and link to the "valuation site". Voila! Mission Accomplished.

It's amazing how many people trust crap valuation sites that don't disclose how they are doing their valuation and just pick figures out of thin air! If anyone con man wants a list of people he can sell the real Taj Mahal to he's only got to do backlink checks on all the valuation sites.
