Good directory of Ezines? The goog is letting me down

I've been looking for a directory of Ezines that is 1. Current 2. doesn't cost to look through. My main point on 2 is that I don't really trust that they have current info just because I"m being charged.

So far I've found junk, but perhaps I'm just tired and not searching right. Anyone know a good ezine directory?

Hey Scott,

When I just started out, I bought a membership from directoryofezines.com
which cost me over usd200

and realised most ezines have not updated their membership sizes for quite some time and most emails I sent out had bounced back or were not replied by the ezines owners....

Very disappointing as I bought it after reading Robert Allen's Multiple streams of internet income.

This was my experience. =)

Scott, I used to be an ezines directory owner and I am publishing more ezines since 2001 (listed in many ezines directories).

Based on the experience mentioned above, what I can tell you, and I know what I'm saying is this: it does NOT exist a good directory of ezines and the truth is that it's not easy at all to run a good directory of ezines.

Reasons for this situation:

1) Usually ezines directories owners do NOT send to publishers update requests. Result? Most of the ezines info are outdated.

Sometimes the owners do send update requests. Many ezine publishers do NOT respond to such requests. Directory owners usually don't remove such ezines. Why? The directory becomes a small one, and no one will be interested in it.

2) There are ezines directories where as an ezine publisher you CANNOT update your info. There are no online forms for submitting updates, the directory owner doesn't respond to emails or is busy doing something else.

3) An ezine publisher updates her or his website and then, if she/he is not busy, if she/he remembers, if she/he can do it, only then she/he tries to update a third party listing. There are many if's as you can notice.

4) As an ezine publisher, there is NO POINT to update some listings from some directories. Why? Many ezines directories send a very small amount of traffic or no traffic at all. Why waste the time updating such listings?

5) Some ezine publishers stop publishing their ezines. Some of them NEVER bother to update(delete) their third party listings. Other publishers died, and they are still listed in many places.

And so on and so forth.

There are 2 directories I can recommend you, though they are not perfect in the way you or I like. Both of them are owned by Chris Knight (EzineArticles wonder guy ).

Week point: the ezines are not updated (I even don't have a clue on how I can update my listings!)

Strong point: they have a lot of visitors and as an ezine publisher I'm very happy to get a decent amount of traffic from them.
