The internet marketing industry is littered with failures... yet you'll rarely hear the gurus talk about it. In fact, 97% of people who get started online fail. And if you don't know what's really involved, take a tour with a typical Internet Marketer...



Let's meet John. One day, John is surfing the Internet. Out of the corner of his eye... he sees a little ad that says: "I Make $5,000 / Day From Home. Click Here To See How" John ends up buying whatever product is being sold, and he's very excited, convinced he is soon going to get rich.



So he starts spending an hour a day in front of his computer, working on his business. He sets up his first blog... he starts writing some articles to try and get some traffic... he learns what an email auto responder is.

He spends hours glued to his computer trying to figure it out, while his family and friends are concerned he's been conned and his new business will never work.



A few months in and he still hasn't made any money, and is now starting to think his family is right. The worst thing is that if John had known what was involved in the first place, he would never have signed up. 6 months later, John has yet to make a dime online and is angry, frustrated and feels like a failure. He's lost time and money and is ready to call it quits.



The truth is, building an online business can be very hard work, and it's rarely as easy as the gurus make it out to be. Now don't get me wrong, of course there are shortcuts and easier ways to make money online than being stuck to your computer forty hour a week.

Copy what other successful affiliates are doing. One of the biggest things is taking the time to build a list. You can really increase your ROI with a list.

I pitch various affiliate marketers on regular basis for the promotion of my website. What they key is to make your intended affiliates satisfy on every page. That means you need to come into an agreement with them about the payment, like the flat rate or % commission. Also providing all the relevant material e.g. media kit, website material. And the main thing is to select the right affiliate for your product otherwise there would be of no use to pay your affiliate if the website is not properly placed.

As said money is in the list, you can promote affiliate products to your loyal list. It is simplest thing, but it is not easy to build list.

That should be the biggest tip for any affiliate marketer.

Most affiliates I work with are scared to spend $20 on anything that could help them. If you are afraid of failure so much that spending a small amount of money on your business is keeping you from doing anything...

Then this business isn't for you...

If you want to get anywhere in this industry you will have to spend money. You might even fall on your ass and lose some of that money. But the people who succeed in this business are the ones who get back up and take it as a learning lesson and fix their mistakes.

If you come into this business expecting to become rich without spending a single penny. Just quit now and go back to your day job, because you have the wrong mentality for this business.

I've been promoting affiliate / CPA offerd for over 16 year. I do it a bit differently than most.

First off, most of the offers that I promote are PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. With them, there is no credit card / purchase required in order to complete an offer. So all a user has to do is fill out a form...so conversion rates are typicaally much higher than offers that require a purchase.

I favor offer that have a make, get or save money angle to them. This is what has overall worked best, as they tend to have the greatest mass appeal. So the potential exist to to generate high volume.

The sweet spot for most of the offer I run, have payouts between $20-$40 per lead. However there are leads that pay more and less, that can be worthwhile promoting, it just comes down to how well they convert. An offer paying $8-$9 and coverts at 2X+ that of a $20 offer, is still going to do well.

The trick is getting cost effective traffic...which is where everyone has the most problems. To do this I buy data(email) and this is because, I'm building assets, that I own and can market to over and over. Compared to what most marketers do, which is to pay for traffic that often results in just a bunch of slicks that convert poorly. Or they use some free strategy,that usually ends up not even being worth the time they spent to implement.

I buy fresh / vertically targeted data, that I know what the users are currently interested in and that there's a PPLoffer that matches their interest.

I generate real-time co-reg, that targets specific PPL offers.

I buy domain targeted data. This is a bit more complex and required additional tools and resources to do profitably.

I get rev-share data that is fresh / vertically targeted. The main difference with rev-share data, is that it costs me $0 upfront, but I split the revenue generated from it, with the list owners.

Anytime you buy data over building a targeted opt-in list, it's not going to be nearly as responsive. So you compensate for this with volume. Which is fine, because you can buy data much quicker and cheaper than you could ever build a list.

However, it's not about the data you initially acquire that is important. You want to always be collecting your opens and clickers and also segmenting them based on the offers. Along with pruning the the non responsive users. That way you are building smaller, but very responsive lists. Which eventually you will send less and make more, each time you mail.

Obviously, there is more to than I can put in a post, but it really does worl. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, does 6-7 figures. While that is a huge range, much comes down to ones ability to scale and effectively manage the infrastructure that comes with scaling.

IT's not for everyone, but something to think about.
