Hi All

I'm a new WF member in Australia and already wrapped in what I have seen.

My question is what web site builder software do you recommend for a simple 3-8 page site , preferably Free.

and I'd propose to host it on my webspace with my ISP, unless you recommend otherwise.

All comment gratefully received.

regards Graham

You can build sites in Notepad if you don't mind writing your pages directly in code.

You could use WordPress and then just use a theme you like if you prefer not to get into coding too much. Also, Joomla! would be a possibility. There are themes for it too.

If you want design software, you could consider Dreamweaver or XSitePro. Neither of those are free though.

You'd also need a program if you want to do your own graphics. Photoshop or GIMP are the most popular. Photoshop isn't free, but GIMP is.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

One of the best Free WYSISWYG is NVU. I have and still use it and I I also use Xsitepro.

However you did say free. You may need headers and the makers of Xsitepro. Have a free version of their header graphics. I believe it's called X Header.

Ewisoft Website Builder is the easiest, most powerful website builder software that you can use to create a website. Web Studio 4.0 web design software is also good to create professional looking web sites in minutes.

If you want a free web editor that is like working with desktop publishing software then NVU is the best Nvu Web Authoring Software.

As someone said before it might be worth a look at wordpress as it is easy to use and there is a mass of information and help online for it.

For making or editing graphics then gimp for windows is probably the best for windows. GIMP - Windows installers

      Hope that helps
