I am completely new to internet marketing and already fed up with 100's of fake, false promised, non-working, stupid and bullSh**t formulas people are selling. So far what I have found is that most of the people who call them internet marketer or gurus are selling courses or product around "how to get rich" or "how they earned millions".
In reality, what they are doing is getting rich by just telling to how to get rich.

The fundamental question comes to my mind is that if someone really knows the magic formula why he/she will share that formula with someone and make that formula so saturate that so he himself cannot earn. If someone already making 1000's of dollars why he will sell that idea for some odd 10-19$ and make so much effort. where as he can invest the same time to multiply its existing capital.

Most of the courses I came across which shows you to get rich by following their secret recipes. But in reality, most of them are either don't work or stopped working due to market change or so much saturation and competition.

In that situation how someone really validates the idea or check the trick really works.

  • Accordign to me internet marketing nowdays is really difficult because of competition.
If somethink works it don't work lifetime. If you put hard work in what you do you can earn passive income lifetime: with a blog or creating a mailing list.
For blog the content is the king and you must have a lot competenze to write high quality articles or pay ghostwriters. For creating mailing list you must create products that it is not so simply to sell nowdays.
However if you are a really smart person you can find teh so called tricks that can reduce time to have success.

Yes, initially pretty much all of us who came into the "Internet marketing" thing, was a result of building successful online businesses outside the Internet marketing niche.

We use this as a means of increasing our profits by sharing the stuff that's working for us in our core niches. The IM stuff is just a sideline.

So if someone's only business is selling make money online stuff, that's a good indication that they are not the guru you're looking for.

If you are completely new to this arena, how in the world do you know they all don't work? Have you tried them? Have you done what they teach you to do for, let's say 6 months, testing and tweaking as you go along?

If not, then how do you know? Or is this just a rant because you simply don't believe them but haven't tried?

The fundamental question comes to my mind is that if someone really knows the magic formula why he/she will share that formula with someone and make that formula so saturate that so he himself cannot earn. There are many areas that will never be saturated. You think that they are going to stop opening McDonald's anytime soon? You think people are going to quit selling diet books anytime soon?

Online, there are thousands of products, thousands of sites, thousands of opportunities, and billions of potential customers.

Let's say I sell an ebook for $17 about protecting your children online from predators. I am successful doing this (sold thousands over the last 2 years) and am happy doing it. I do a good job and my customer base is expanding.

Since I've got everything automated and only need to check in to our forum once a day to answer questions, I have a lot of free time.

Also, this market has an upper limit in what they are willing to pay. They love their kids but probably $20 bucks or so is about all I could get for my product based on my research.

Why not teach other people what I've learned? I'm not going to tell them my niche, maybe, but I can teach the process and the tools and the techniques that got me to where I am. People wanting to make $$ online also have a much higher upper limit on what they are willing to pay - routine launches sell for $1000-$2000.

Why not? Does doing so make me a scammer or mean my techniques don't work?

Peter, hopefully now that you've had your bubble burst, you can actually learn how to build a real internet marketing business.

The reason most reports are cheap (to answer your fundamental question):
    1. Market dictates price. Digital reports on this forum are hard to sell for a high price. There are exceptions, but there is a reason people started selling WSO's for free (this is no longer allowed, but see #2)
    2. Its about lead generation. If you can remove the cost barrier, but still get someone to whip out their wallet even for $2, you have a valuable asset.

Most of the methods being sold do in fact work, because they are retreads of tried and true methods that always work. Someone may find a new angle, or a new website, but there is really nothing new under the sun.

The real question, Peter, is what have you followed through with? Or have you, up to this point, just been an astute observer? Fair question, isn't it?

    Best regards

i understand your frustration, some of us (IMers) actually do make money from other niches.

I, for example, run a profitable authority site in the baby shower niche and I often use it in my case studies.

When looking for a method, try to see if the IMer is successful with it outside the IM space. He or she should be offering you, real life case studies.

also, give the method a chance, make sure you follow it to a T and be consistent.. It's easy to accuse the teacher as a scammer if the student doesnt have the dedication to follow through..

    All the best,

Internet marketing works for sure. You just have to find your niche and stick with it. Stop buying products and more products looking for the magic bullet to get rich in a twinkle of an eye. This is real work, and if you are in a hurry, you end up no where fast.

Take your time and learn a business model that really interests you, then stick with it. In my opinion, almost all IM methods will work, if done right. So test, stick with it for at least 6 months; if you follow the step by step methods of a good program, you will see good results.

Also, remember that taking action daily is what will make your business prosperous.

Hi Peter, I think a lot of us have had similar thoughts to what you're having. In fact these days if I purchase any kind of internet marketing related material I tend to not use any services/content unless the seller has shown some kind of success in a non-IM niche. It's not a hard and fast rule but it is something I take quite seriously.

I also agree that there's a number of questionable money making methods out there, gimmicks if you will. Methods that will make some money, but are contingent on market timing or aren't something that is scaleable to become a large business. Ultimately we'd all like an online business that drops seven figures into our bank account each year and that takes a solid business model that will stand the test of time. So if you're looking at sinking some $$$ into a money making method ask yourself if it's something that is heavily reliant on market trends and could be negatively impacted easily, or if it's a method that would allow you to scale up a large, sustainable business that will stand the test of time.

And like Michael Meaney says, many folks here have seen success in a niche outside of internet marketing first so it's natural to want to share in that success, and maybe even make a dollar or two in the process.

Albeit there are a few genuine individuals out there hoping to share their techniques and create a brand but honestly many product developers are there to take advantage of the Shiny Object Syndrome that most new comers to Internet Marketing have.

If you pursue these Shiny Object, you'll likely burn yourself out in about 2-3 years. You then think Internet Marketing doesn't work for you and look offline or you re-evaluate and say you've learnt a good lesson the past 2-3 years. Use your common sense and then look for real viable options.

Internet marketing like any business requires hard work, consistency, and perseverance. There are a few accelerators or passive income techniques however those who find it generally won't share about it explicitly (if you get a mentor, he may teach you one or one his own lessons however).

As with most things in life, you aren't rewarded for mediocrity. You either ace it or you stay average/standard throughout.

Find a niche of internet marketing that interest you. Excel in it - it's not going to be over night mind you, there are exceptions but realistically expect at least 2-3 years. Then keep at it and keep learning and keep innovating, learning from those outside your niche/industry.

I laugh at those courses that tell you to help businesses in just 60 minutes after reading a course; realistically it's hard to have enough business sense and intuition with internet marketing to be an effective consultant within 60 minutes.

I trust those course are actually excellent and teach you a lot but some things you just can't short cut. You may be knowledgeable in one aspect that the course teaches you but insufficiently knowledgeable other factors to ensure you're really able to help those you're working with - which is what matters, creating value. (creating value for others will build good will and help get more referrals over time if you look monetary aspect of things - the other aspect it feels good to know you're helping others excel.)

I share your frustration my friend - I started my journey about 6-8 months ago and crossed over from Real Estate (hasn't worked out yet). I'm out there every day on the internet working at it, testing, failing, learning, wasting money, but I believe one day it'll pay off.

If there's one thing I learned its that getting useful information to apply to your efforts is extremely difficult. A very, very, tiny percentage of the content is actually practical. This is because 1 the content was written by an internet marketer, and 2 they are internet marketing.

See people like us are a niche to these people. The so called "Gurus" are targeting people looking to earn money online, saturating the fuk out of the internet with ebooks, courses, blog posts, youtube videos, you name it. They'll create some "relevant" content that is search engine optimized to hell, linking to this that and the other, then at the end you get 0 value from it but during the entire thing, the real purpose of this content is to sell a book, or a course, or a an affiliate product.

Internet marketing to people who want to do internet marketing.

The information is out there, but it's going to take alot of research to piece together useful snippets from all over the internet. Also, this forum is excellent for getting answers and there are a lot of genuinely helpful people here.

Oh an why someone will sell their secrets is because they are monetizing the fuk out of those "secrets"... someone who really knows what their doing goes out and makes a big popular get rich course, and markets the hell out of that thing receives 80-100 people signing up a day and generates thousands of dollars a day.

Good luck and stay with it.

Why not share the formula? This isn't Coca-Cola formula or anything.

You don't want to help people just like you when you find success?

You can make money helping people "sharing the formula" as you say.

People who don't want to share this is because they are full of shit scamming people.

Besides is not that you will make less money or they will steal your clients for doing it, if people never share their knowledge and experience we would be ******* stupids with 0 knowledge making the same mistake over and over.

Thank you all for sharing valuable insights. I know everyone has their own experience and everyone learned by different mistakes and different things.
But real questions remain same that what are those proven methods and things still work in this competitive world.
I know people mentioned above that it's good to share secret knowledge and their formulas which can help others to grow and earn money.

I request all IMs who has proved in the market and earned consistent money with those methods, please share here other than "work hard" or "have patience" so we all can learn and work on those methods and earn also.

It is a fact that email marketing works. That's why Microsoft, Amazon, Yahoo, etc. does it.

It is a fact that Facebook, Twitter, and other social media marketing does it. That's why huge companies such as Coca Cola do it.

It is a fact that writing persuasive, compelling ads, including landing pages, sales letters, etc. works. That's why major companies hire copywriters.

Now, quit questioning these facts. Just because someone doesn't believe doesn't make the fact not true.

You don't want to follow some guru? Follow what Microsoft or Amazon or Facebook does. Watch how they market in whatever area you are trying to learn. Getting an email from Amazon or Microsoft is not really that different than getting a pitch about a make money online product.

I request all IMs who has proved in the market and earned consistent money with those methods, please share here other than "work hard" or "have patience" so we all can learn and work on those methods and earn also.
That's not how it works. The way it works is a person has to spend the time and do their own research. If I have a paid course about doing email marketing and you don't believe that it's true or works, then why would you believe what I may post here for free.

This forum is full of information and help that can teach you what you need to know but it's up to you to find it and figure out if the advice applies to your situation.

One free option is to follow the daily threads the forum staff provides with a list of good, free marketing information. An example is here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...08-2016-a.html

Besides, from your first post where you say you are brand new but you have already given up on getting the truth, it sounds like you need more patience. So that advice may be the best you can use!

In case you somehow missed it check out Mark's last Post. He so aptly put it that there is NO secret recipe.

Really. Everyone will tell you the EXACT things that he mentioned..... WORK!!

And as he said those are the Facts.

You just have to learn the Process to get those down. And it takes Time and Effort to learn them and be able to effectively implement them....i.e Email Marketing, Social media etc..etc..

That's where people fail. They do not want to go thru the Learning and Trial and Error because it is too much Time and Work for their poor selves

  • I am sorry to hear about your experiece with paid courses. I have worked closely with marketing gurus and not all of them are after the money. Yes, it is about selling their system but please take note that creating a product also takes a lot of time, effort and money on their end. It is also a gamble for these marketers to create and sell their system. Most of these gurus care to share what they know because they are in the stage where they 'level' up their own business. I believe that most of the paid courses available are "effective" in their own ways since the lessons taught are based on the success of the marketing gurus. There are people who fail because they easily give up or they didn't follow everything that were taught to them.

    Here's an idea for you:

Give us a list of every course you have bought.

Once you do that ask yourself why you bought the courses.

After that, last question: have you done anything any of the course you have bought teaches you?

If not the problem isn't the courses.

The problem is you and not doing anything with what you have bought.

Its easy to complain about something not working when you haven't tried it.

    Get to work.

    Hey there

The problem is not always the courses there are courses are there that do teach the steps necessary!

But they are hard to find and then you have to be willing to take action properly!

I bet if there was a course that showed every step and I mean every step still half

the people would complain it doesn't work!

They would not take the time to figure out and work consistently.

Example: we all know you can make money blogging but do we all:

    • buy domain and hosting?
    • Invest in a landing page tool?
    • Invest in outsource work for content?
    • Invest time and money into promotion?
NO half the people expect it to land on their lap!

Sorry this is absolutely the worst advice for someone that has already read a lot and not succeeded.

Learning something or buying/reading an ebook never, and I mean never, made anyone one single dime.

What has to happen is to learn and then go and do. It seems the doing part is what is lacking on the OP's part. Telling them to learn more will NOT solve their frustration in the least. It will only add to the feeling that the entire industry is full of scammers and more posts such as the one here.

With so many people out there selling the magic system it is difficult to know which one to buy. I for one would see what their background is in selling. If they have pictures or videos of them in some big conference holding a giant commission check chances are they know what they are doing.

However knowing what they are doing doesn't mean they know how to teach it. I see it here all the time someone will ask a question and they will get an answer of do step A then step B then step C which may lay out the route to take but what good does it do to tell someone this if you don't explain how to do step A or B or C. To me this is almost like handing someone all the ingredients to bake a cake but not telling what portions of what ingredients to use. Would you ever get a cake, probably not. So in looking for a course to get just like so many other things you must do a lot of research which is always one of the keys to success.

The best solution to my mind, as I'm currently going through it is this: https://joinscrewu.com/start

It is NOT focussed solely on IM, but shows you starting from scratch, several business models and goes in depth on first figuring out if your idea will work, then on to competition etc.

Step-by-step with progress tracker, spreadsheets, and a community of ENTREPRENEURS, NOT JUST internet marketers. Insanely good value.
