Default The "I'll tell how to fix it" person

You may have experience with people who fit into this group.

The "How to fix it" people who write you an email and try to tell you what is wrong with your marketing and why sales are not taking off.

I recently launched a product costing around $350. First I built a new list for it. The list grew fairly quickly to about 600 people and tailed off it's growth and stands now at about 900. A small list by most internet marketing standards.

I only marketed by sending some emails to older lists I had, as well as making a couple of forum posts.

No affiliates or joint ventures. No PPC advertising, no search engine advertising.

I have had about a 3% conversion rate on a $350 product to a market where most products sell for about $20-$40.

This teeny "launch" so far has brought in about $8500 in around 3 weeks

But, the "How to fix it" person writes to tell me, why the product is not taking off, why my website is not professional, why my videos are not professional, what I should do to fix my website and what I would need to have him buy from me.

It makes me chuckle that the assumption is the product is "not doing well"

Example:

To someone without a background in direct and internet marketing, people think if they receive many emails that sales are not going well. You know..."they are pushy for sales, so they must be desperate for sales" When the opposite is in fact true.

The outsider, who has no background in internet or direct marketing, assumes that sales must be slow because the "Seller" is sending very frequent emails. If something were not working, a smart marketer would not continue with it.

The "How to fix it" person also assumes that everyone makes a purchasing decision the same way they do, when this is not true.

It's quite funny that someone who tells me they won't buy from me, basically because I have not proved I am an expert at the subject in their eyes, would think I would listen to them about marketing tactics without justifying to me that they are an expert in internet marketing.

Just my thought for the day.

I think this may be my favourite phrase for now! Made me smile! Well said.

Funny. I couldn't get an exact match for: "My Granny has Purple hair and orange eyes"

I think that you're probably "forgetting" that direct marketing "doesn't work".

LOL. I don't know how many times people have told me that and then wondered why they aren't making any sales.

Actually, I see I left out the word "You" - it should be:
