Are building Amazon sites still profitable?

Hello guys! I began trying to make a little side cash online and joined Warrior Forum back in 2011. In 2012 I was making Adsense Micro Niche sites and also Amazon sites, always focusing on keywords that I could grab an open .com domain name for. I had many flops, but did have an amazon site that did well and make me about $100 a month on average. I got excited and began writing more and more articles, creating more and more sites. Eventually my marriage hit a rough spot because my wife was upset I spent way to much time on the computer so I walked away from the micro niche site world... Fast forward 4 years, the marriage didnt work out anyway and I wish that I would have never left, I now feel like I have so much to learn all over again! Are Amazon sites still a decent way to go? I woulnt ask for anything to be spoon fed to me I know that is a huge pet peeve for many forum members, but any suggestions or just pointing in a general direction would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the Forum Market place and contact those sellers who are using Amazon. I just read an article about the FBA Program. Fulfillment by Amazon? I would do a web search to find Amazon Distributors and see what they are doing. Amazon is growing bigger everyday. I have not implemented any Amazon sites. Been sitting on the fence for years But I think I might.
Some suggestions from online Amazon Site Owners thta I will utilize. Using video to do product review. Helps you rank higher.

    Good luck in your endeavors

Been screwed over by Amazon too many times in the past to ever recommend them as a valid source of income. Any minute one of the nerds on the backend can arbitrarily disable your account because they don't understand how you are bringing in so many sales. Or they still disable your account after making so many sales claiming you have not made a sale in 90 days...the list goes on.

I am a big fan of building niche sites for certain Clickbank products. Received little to no crap from Clickbank over the years.

Nice, Clickbank is something I heard of back in 11/12 but was afraid to get into. I know Adsense never seemed to work out well for me though

Yeah I think that was when they were deducting monies from your account monthly I don't remember what fee they called it. They don't do that as much now. I am guessing their top affiliates complained to them and threatened them.

Been with them since 04 and made a nice living with them back then.

Amazon isn't the only affiliate network we use -- but even so, I'm certain we make more with Amazon alone that 99% of the people on this forum do with all their monetization methods combined.

Does this mean Amazon sites are profitable? No. It means my website is profitable. Your website is your website and what I or others make has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on whether or not your site will be profitable.

Similarly, unlike the poster above, I wouldn't touch Clickbank with a ten foot pole. But does that mean Clickbank itself is bad? Of course not. It just means that it doesn't fit my business and my website.

The problem with your question is that it's nonsensical. Amazon (and Clickbank) is just monetization methods; they aren't business models. So there's no such thing as an Amazon site anymore than there is such a thing as a "MasterCard Store". You can use the Amazon affiliate program in all sorts of ways just as all sorts of stores and services make money when their customers pay with a MasterCard.

If you're able to develop a business model where you get people to click on your affiliate links and buy things, then yes Amazon sites are profitable. If you can't do that, then no, they aren't. But there's nothing inherent to Amazon (or Clickbank) itself that is or isn't profitable. What matters is what you do with it.

So what's your business plan? That's where I'd start...

Yes indeed Amazon sites are still working like clockwork and I am going to learn how to CRUSH it from one of my Mentors that have many other students making over 1,000 a month using Amazon.

I'd say more profitable than they've ever been. I made more money with my Amazon sites in 2016 than the previous 2 years combined.

Could be that more and more people are buying stuff online these days.

        it was completely my fault....

I incentivized an offer they were running for a baby registry. I got $3 or $4 (i forgot, it was years ago) for every lead i sent them.

I ran a baby shower website so its a perfect match.

My f##k-up: I promoted free baby shower prints if they signed up with me...

Made a lot of money until amazon said I violated their TOS. anyways i got three nice checks and the fourth one froze, never to be seen....

i still run a profitable baby shower site and there are other baby registry lead opportunities but they dont covert as well as Amazon did...

Its that brand! Amazon is a great brand...

        anyways,, lesson learned! LOL

kilgore's comment is exactly right. My website has earned about $14k from Amazon so far this year but it does not contain any product reviews or articles. I did not set out to create an "Amazon site". I discovered a niche where what people really needed was a searchable product catalog, so I built one. Since many of the products were available on Amazon it made sense for me to monetize the site using Amazon affiliate links. Products not available on Amazon don't make money for me directly but they add to the value the site provides.

Your goal should be to provide value, to solve someone's problem, then to find a way to profit from it. If Amazon is the best way to monetize your site then use Amazon but you can't decide that before you know what your site is. If you like writing product reviews then go ahead and build a product review site. I have heard that "thin" sites are hard to rank on Google so you'll need to consider how you're going to get quality traffic. My site is an authority site in its niche and is well liked in forums which allows me to rank quite well and receive 1,300 unique visitors per day (2016 average so far).

    Best of luck!

It can be profitable, but not sure if it's still the best solution you could come up with. Many countries has restricted access to Amazon.

Yes, Still now Amazon is a great marketplace. It's going bigger day by dy. If you have a niche site then you cann earn money from it in a easy way. So, go with it again and make it success. Thanks.

Amazon may be great for earning affiliate commissions but imho they are just too unstable with their TOS to be trusted for long term Internet Marketing. They are always changing or updating their policies.

You can pick up from where you left it.

If it works back then for you, it's very possible it's going to do well again.

Nothing much have changed to be honest, most people either haven't been doing things rightly or keep assuming things like this are similar to the apps on my phone that requires update every now and then.

Your main focus should be traffic, traffic and traffic.
Pick a profitable niche, select your products and build a site around it.

The marketing aspect is the hardest part of them all because most people are cluelessness coupled with Googles stiffness.

Try to drive some search engine traffic to your site, create videos and upload on YouTube, participate in social media campaign, press release and blogging.
Most importantly, make high quality content.

    All the best..

Hello warriors, I am also looking to start a micro niche website so can anyone here tell me is it still the good thing to do. My aim is to earn a decent income through adsense, clickbank and some other third party companies.

I have sorted out the niche which I want to promote or work for but don't know how to get started. I have heard that quality content and seo optiomization are the main thing to rank in the Google search results but I have no knowledge about seo.

I had a micro site in the past...

    ...but this business SUCKS!

It's far better Email Marketing business: adsense and amazon can drop u off whenever they want.... WHY risk?

If you can deliver traffic it's far better to point it to an opt in page, imho, then to a site hoping people cold buy or click ads.
