Hi I am currently working on launching my first full fledged website/blog by the end of this weekend. Basically its going to focus on giving people information on a certain area. My main plan on monetization was to combine it with a network marketing venture I am undertaking by selling the products to interested visitors. However I am starting to doubt whether or not this method will be effective by itself. Can anyone think of any other ways to monetize the website? My idea was that the products would be directly related to the content on the website and therefore the interest would be there, however I get the feeling that there must be another way to monetize that I could combine with my previously stated method. Any ideas is greatly appreciated.]

Kind of hard to give you advice without knowing what your market is. With this limited information all I can say is Adsense... not much help there. Or maybe look for HOT products with affiliate programs that fit your content.

I cannot tell from your email, but are you trying to sell the products directly from your content pages? Drive the traffic to your own product review sites or even directly to your product sites that are selling the products. But make these sites separate from your content site. Also, be sure to add email subscription to the content pages.

You could write a brief report on your topic, could be just 10 pages long, and then make recommendation to products inside, these could be affiliate links.
2nd you could have good old adsense on there, or some amazon links. Don't forget CPA offers as well, there are tons in the health niche. Phil |

I was always under the assumption that adsense wasn't a very profitable method of monetizing. Anyone have any proof against that claim? I have considered cpa offers but I am not sure how to implement it into the site. Also why is it necessary to seperate the content sites and the product sites? Is it ok to mention the products at the end of a section if they would be beneficial for that area?

I guess my point is to pre-sell and drive the traffic to another site to close the deal.

As for me affiliate programs and clickbank products may give you a very good income. Choose your products very careful so that your traffic would be interested in them.

thanks for all the replies. I decided to split the content and the store into two different pages. I'm planning on using clickbank, and paydotcom items in the store as well as tangible items from my network marketing venture. Once I get the content site up and start getting good traffic I am thinking of doing banner ads and selling advertising space (however I do not know how to start any of that). Any other monetization ideas that I can implement would be greatly appreciated.
