Making sure my affiliates get their commission with CLICKBANK.

Hello All,

I have been reworking my product sales process a little bit lately.

What I have done was created my standard opt-in for my free report at http://www.mydomain.com/.

From there, I market my paid product through my newsletter by sending my subscribers to a 'promo' page that offers my course for 50% off:

http://www.mydomain.com/promo.php

The only problem is, I am not exactly sure if my affiliates commissions will be tracked properly if I do it like this.

Does it not matter? I mean once the cookie is set on their computer through the CB affiliate hoplink, when they visit my free opt in page, won't the cookie still work on any page on my website as long as they order within the first 2 months?

Thanks warriors! Just making sure my affiliates dont get screwed.

Yes I believe you are right, once the cookie is set the affiliate will get credited within 60 days. As long as you set the site up with Clickbank and they know you have an opt in as a homepage, I don't see a problem. I have seen a lot of sites do that like cbcode. I'm sure that if they order on another page the affiliate will get credited.

Also what about sending them directly to your order/product page after they opt in the first time. I think that would be a good idea and if they don't order hopefully they will with the follow ups.

Thanks for the reply Mike. I appreciate it.

What I am currently trying is offering them my course at 'half off' with my promo page.

I do send them to the order page right after they opt in, but they are sent to the 'full price' course. A few days later I send them a series of 4 emails that are like

'for the next 4 days, the course is going to be offered at 50% off. you can get your copy at this special rate at:

      http://www.mydomain.com/promo.php'

The emails before my promotional ones all lead to the full priced course.

Wondering what you think of that method as well.

      Thanks!

I'm not sure if affiliates will like the sudden drop in price as it eats at their profits. Maybe give it a fair amount of time at full price say an email every 2-3 days for at least 2 weeks or so and then lower the price.

Wait a minute I just realized something. If everyone opts in then everyone is on your list
and if people buy at regular price and then find out they could have gotten it at a lower price they may refund to get the lower price. If there is some way to take your buyers off of that list and move them to a buyers list so they don't know about the discount then that would be better.

Well what I did was, even if they click 'buy now' on my full priced page, I still give it to them for the half off rate so I dont have to worry about customers being pissed when they find out they could have gotten it cheaper.. Basically what I was trying to do was create some sort of scarcity count down timer thing that would make the customer think the price was going back up pretty soon if they dont order. I also wanted to integrate the 4 day cash machine into my mailing list to give it a try.

Is there a more effective way at doing this?

A little off topic here, but I have several blogs up with hoplinks to clickbank products
my anti virus ran today and cleared all of my tracking cookies. Will this
cause clickbank to not tie me to the hoplinks?

As long as the half price page retrieves the right cookie, everything should be ok. I don't know a lot about cookies, but there are a lof of them on some peoples computers and a site only goes after certain ones. So as long as the page they order from tries to retrieve the right cookie, they would get paid, as long as everything else is working right.

Why don't you price your product at the correct price though. You would probably get more orders that way. If you are sellign for the lower price anyway, there must be plenty of people that just say it is more than I want to spend, and don't bother to opt into your list. If they knew that they could get it at the lower price, you might have sold them. I just wonder if your system is working best for you.
