Is it possible to get paid for making my followers watch videos?

Hi there,

I share (embed) many nice short videos on my FB pages and websites - Not my own videos but videos of different people which I believe are of great interest to my followers.

My question: Is there a service that allows me to get paid every time someone watches a video that I shared / embedded on my website / social-media ? I know that there is a possibility to shorten the URL of the video and get paid for every 1000 views, but what about getting paid for every person who actually watches a video which I shared?

      Sorry euginus,

      I'm not familiar with any particular service, as such... I just assumed that it is possible, since it is possible to share shortened URLs and be paid for every 1000 views... ( I was told that shorte.st is paying very well, although I never tried it myself).

    Getting paid for every view if it happens inside Facebook would not really be possible, but if your followers are interested in watching videos, there are still ways to monetize that. If you want to earn something, you'll need to get the out of Facebook in one way or another.

    The most straightforward method of doing that would be to create a simple blog where you would embed the videos and would have ads placed around them like AdSense, other ad networks or possibly targeted CPA or affiliate offers. You could actually combine all of those. If you want to be aggressive in your monetization strategy you could also add popunders and even content lockers that would not allow your visitors to open the article with the video embeded without completing some offer. Obviously, that would make a lot of your followers quite angry, so just a website with ads and video embeds is the most balanced way to go.

    Additionally, you could also create your own videos (possibly based on other people videos if you don't mind dealing with the copyright thing is some white, gray or black hat way) where you could directly promote some offer, affiliate program or a product you could be selling as part of the video content itself. If you go that route, you don't really need a website and you can embed the videos directly on Facebook to get the highest number of views and reach. This strategy requires targeting the thing you promote extremely sharply so you would get enough conversions and/or sales.

    Through CPA content or Video Lockers.

    If you are embedding videos in your site it's possible to use a video lockers. Try Cpagrip.

    So people have to do something (survey, etc) to watch the video.

    If you are putting them on facebook, you can upload a short preview and then put a link for the entire video, masked by cpa video locker video link.

      I've seen this. Usually done with a link.

      Another way to get value out of the shared vids is to tease them on to a squeeze page.

      Try to retain as much of that traffic as possible.

        But these are not my videos... What I'm doing is "content curation" : I'm embedding other people's videos on my FB pages and blogs, in order to give my audience something they like...

        Maybe I should think about a teaser of some kind, that will be posted on my FB page and will lead to my own blog (through monetized shortened URL), where, as bleght suggested, I can place adsense ads + affiliate links, or similar stuff...

    if you're going the paid traffic route then rock on!

    however, if you get a ton of free google traffic then that might lead to a bad user experience and a drop in the SERPs
