I have an entertainment website that's gaining traffic slowly. I have $500 with me to invest, where you think I should spend my money?

      One small query- I know its illegal but can I buy a Facebook page or ask someone to share my links on his Facebook page in return of money?

          Would you quit being uptight! There's nothing illegal about doing that, just like you pay to put up an ad on a bigger site to get leads - you could also do the same with FB fan pages! It benefits both parties - an effective monetization strategy for the fan page owner and a great way for a smaller biz to get massive exposure!

          My advice for the OP is - since you're running an entertainment site, this niche i think is really content based - write well and get it out there on facebook ... build a fan page, target your competitors' audiences - for instance MTV.

          Social is the way!

    Do you ever consider SEO to promote your entertainment site? You don't need to invest any money. Just use the right keywords and have your site ranked in search engines such as Google and Bing.

    My advice for paid traffic is to use bing ads since they are not so strict with any affiliate links but it all depends what your "Entertainment site" is providing

    How are you currently getting traffic?
    Can you leverage this (eg if it's from Facebook then maybe use Facebook ads)

    Facebook ads OR if you have a Facebook page promote (or boost) the posts you post on there. So if some big news just dropped in your industry you can promote your post to make sure a lot of people see it.

    It depends on what you have to focus If you are trying to get the traffic from social media accounts then invest your budget on social ads such as Facebook ads.. etc. Or if you would go for SEO then invest it into the guest posts from the quality websites that are based on your site niche to build the both traffic and SERP movement on your site.

    Nix the paid ads suggestions unless you have something right now and immediate to sell.

    I think sometimes people just have a knee jerk reaction to facebook ads and PPC. they suggest it for everything. I am a SEO guy and I wouldn't suggest SEO as the main thing for an entertainment site (I would suggest optimizing the page for SEO and going after some long tail easy to rank terms though).

    Entertainment sites have such a great tie in to content marketing. Pick up on entertainment news with a particular angle and you can use several sites to drive traffic in a viral way across news promotion sites social media.

    At a time where even a tweet can make viral news, entertainment sites can get on the map pretty quickly with content marketing (but only if you are creative)
