why are Nigerians barred from online surveys

Hi Kocsy,

Welcome to the Warrior Forum.

I would guess (and it's only a guess), it's because Nigerians
online have a reputation due to many infamous scams.

No idea, but in the meantime I've got 700,000,000,000 dollars sitting in an account in Lagos. The account holder tragically died in a car/plane/train/uni-cycle accident.

That's amazing! What a coincidence -- I am in a similar position. My great-aunt, who was a decent Christian woman, had control of an oil-export account at the time of her death in the same accident. The balance is 900,000,000 dollars.

I wonder if we could locate a trustworthy partner to enable the transfer of these funds to an American bank?

Therefore we must ensure that it is a noble and trustworthy person. Luckily I am a close relative of the President of the Bank Of Nigeria, so I shall ask him to make contact with someone on our behalf - then he can refer them to an important barrister friend of mine, who is standing-by, waiting for their details so that the transfer may be completed!

Funny you should mention that as I was only recently contacted by an old associate of Saddam Husein who is willing to throw in 4 tons of gold PLUS, and I quote: "an alluring and emotion provoking collection of erotic gems and diamonds", who assures me he is of, quote: unflappable and infallible honesty.

Erotic gems... the mind quivers at the possibilities....

All this gold and gems is held in 2 chests in a security house in Antwerp. Bloody big chests to fit 4 tons of gold. Perhaps some distant relation of Pamela Anderson.

Yes it is tragic though. People still get taken in by stuff like this

Happen to be on first name terms with Philco's relative and I can tell you he's an awfully nice chap don't ya know. He's pointed me to a few of these deals and only charges the embarrassingly low amount of a coupla' thousand a deal.

I've availed myself of his services on more than one occassion and the cash from 2003 should be here any week so I'm happy to help you chaps out with the loan of my bank account as you happen to know Mr President personally.

If you could let me know where to send the Western Union transfer I'll get the cash off right away.

Just on a side note chaps, wat'ya say that we pool some cash together so Mr. President doesn't have to keep using that call box to ring us? I think it's a little undignified to say the least. Doesn't seem to dampen the man's spirit though; He's always chuckling when he rings me.

majority were very nice people, and as honest as the day is long. There
is only one I've met that I didn't like at all, but then he lacked social skills
and basic honesty. He stood out because he is the rare exception.

Hi,

Legitimate surveys have a demographic who they want to survey. Sometimes this demographic varies from survey to survey.

I signed up to take a survey once and when I got to the end of the sign up process I was informed, "Sorry at present we don't have any survey for your demographic, please try again later."

Man I wanted that $3

George Wright, P.S. My point being that anyone at anytime might "fail" the Demographic requirement.

Exactly my thought. Demographic has a lot to do with surveys. That is why it will never be a great way to make money, there will always be limitations.

And don't sweat over those little jokes, there are clowns in every walk of life, just move on.

I once tried making money with surveys from nigeria (Surveyscout) and only end up receiving a gift certificate of $78 after 11months.

Well the truth our image has been dented by out so called brothers. Thats just one of the many reasons affecting Nigerian ban from survey, secondly demographic area (nigeria) too, you know you have to undergo some kind of screening to see if you fit the criteria. Its just like BankPHB Nigeria taking a survey from Mexico. It makes no sense.

Move on brother. Look for a good marketing business and build your reputation first, thou it requires experience. But with determination you can.

It could be that they pay via paypal or other payment processors that have few countries banned due to reported high levels of fraud/scams. Two of the biggest names on those black lists are Nigeria and Indonesia. Try and find out how they pay and then search for any such statements in their ToS.

Looks like a sad case of everyone pays for the faults of a few. Scammers and spammers are known to be just a few, acting orm many different identities

The simple answer is that Most of the surveys in question have nothing to do with Nigeria or Nigerians. Most of those surveys have a targeted geographic location and demographic, which we don't fall under.

How can do product surveys of companies that are not located in Nigeria.

Of course there are some surveys open to international participants but the bulk revolve around US and Europe

Probably just harder to get paid...

Many of the standard methods of sending money to Nigeria, and many other places have "dried up"

The payment processing companies want no part of it - can't blame them.

Any company that sends money that is later determined to have been transferred unlawfully, could wind up in a pricey legal battle.

Nigeria is actually the largest country in africa with a large amount of people consuming, basically the consumer market is huge.

I have done businesss with nigerian (the honest ones so far), each order comes from them larger and larger and any payment is "cash upfront".

Its the same with indonesia, i travel to this region frequently, the indonesian chinese especially are ridicoulsy wealthy, you are talking about people that live in palaces. There was one i visited in surabaya who had a solid gold dinner set, frankly i wanted to keep the utensils when i was done

Same with cambodia, people in the 60s told me scam this and scam that, end of the day they were wrong and i ended up in a mine.

Every deal has its merits and flaws, judge each one on that and you will succeed

But going back to the nigeria story, i feel that if anyone can setup a online payment system in nigeria and do it honestly, you are going to really make truckloads, no competition and only you

, this is an opportunity in the making.

It's not just Nigerians, it's anyone who doesn't live in the places where the wealthy 20% live. So if you are Tanzania or pretty much anywhere on the continent of Africa you probably won't qualify.

Survey companies target people with a propensity to spend and who have disposable income.

It's a matter of economics my friend, so don't feel aggrieved by it.

In every 12 there is always a judas, nigerians are honest people,who do legit business only that few lousy fellows and their greedy preys in the western nation who want to cash money that they never work for are giving the country bad image. Both are guilty con star and victim.
