I have finally finished the Action Plan for How to Make Money Online. BUT it's pretty intensive for a 21 day period, probably at least 1 1/2 hours maybe 2 hours per day. So should I expand the time period to 30 days or keep it to 21 days?

The Action Plan is focused on intermediate newbies to IM. In other words I don't explain what a blog is or how to set one up.

Just keep it at 21 days or create a squeeze page and test it 21 days vs 30 days and see which one gets the most subscribers.

I think going with 30 days is the better idea. Most people think in terms of a day, a week, or a month, etc.

Just look at all the diet courses around, all geared towards 30 days.

I lean towards 30 days as well, since time is more commonly measured in a month. With that said though, sometimes being a little different can help you stand out.

Isaiah's suggestion about testing both 21 and 30 days is a great idea! See which converts and earns more for you.

Intermediate newbies? To me, if you're an intermediate anything you've moved out of the newbie category.

I only bring this up because if you're asking your students to spend 1.5 - 2 hours daily, I think you're going to lose a lot of newbies. Remember, they (supposedly) know nothing about IM. They need to be spoon fed with just the important essentials, the very basics.

I think that newbies do better when they are only asked to take baby steps as they launch their IM career. To me at least, most newbies will struggle to keep their enthusiasm up for 2 hr. blocks.

So my suggestion is to give them 1/2 hour blocks - let them finish steps and feel good about their accomplishments. I would also make all the steps available to them at the beginning. Some newbies will complete a number of steps and want more (they won't want to wait until the next day's lesson). Let them work at their own pace. If someone only has 1/2 hour to work in a day, they won't feel frustrated because they're behind.

The best to you on your project,

Steve, pretty much summed up my thoughts. However, I would say that most newbies will hang around for 1.5 to 2 hours per day but I seriously doubt they'll make it to day 21 or 30. Seems like the burnout rate is pretty high when most are expecting easy and immediate success.

I like the "learn at your own pace" method. Some will get thru it in 7 days, some will get thru it in 30 or more, and some won't get thru it.

    ouch!

sounds like a recipe for disaster...

i'd talk to the tortoise and not the hare on this one...

yea, setting goals is important but not the kind to suffer over...

take it easy, slow and steady really does win the race: weight loss, make money online, learning a new language, acquiring a new skill etc...

pace yourself instead of discouraging yourself a month from now...

    all the best,

I gree with DenEdBiz - 30 days is a better idea.

It may sound silly, but it makes a difference.

Good luck with your Action Plan project and let me know how it goes!

If you feel it's a bit too intense, extend the period a bit, but you don't need to go as high as 30 days. You can go with 28 (4 weeks) for instance. Split testing might also be a good idea.
