Please I know this is a bit off topic but i'd very much appreciate a helpful response.

Paypal is currently restricted in my country. We can only send/pay and not receive funds. I plan on promoting some affiliate products on JvZOO and fortunately for me, I have a brother in the US.

So what is the best route for me to take? Should he open a business paypal account in my name or he should open one in his name?

I understand i won't be able to access the account as paypal are very strict with Ip addresses and related stuff. So how do i track payments? I am guessing perhaps just via email?

Thank you very much as i await your suggestions!!

    Do you trust your brother?

He can set up a business account in his name and you can take him on as a partner in your business.

Of course, there are probably other better solutions, but this is the one you are asking about.

Your brother would be 100% responsible for paying taxes whether he actually sees a penny of the profit or not.

BTW, this is most likely classified as money laundering. Do the research.

    Use a VPN.

You can mask your IP from anywhere in the world.

    Problem solved.

Paypal has banned VPNs and using one will get his account terminated. They also look at more than just an IP address to establish someone's location.

OP is better off partnering with his brother in the US.

You are best off with your brother having the paypal account. Thats legit and legal with no misrepresentation

ignore the totally silly claim that that is "money laundering". Taking payment through a brother (who at that point is a partner with you ) is not and never has been money laundering.

Sure, scheming to funnel money into Nigeria via false pretense is what normal people do in the US.

      Silly.

I agree to use VPN because Paypal will don't know the country you live in as you can hide your real IP and use another country's IP

Yes, becoming partners with your brother and giving him access to the PayPal account seems like the best option. He can keep you updated with daily (or however often you want them) reports via email.

I highly disagree on using others PayPal account. It will create hell for you rather than helping you. Better find any other solutions or alternatives like Payoneer, Payza, bitcoin etc.

Since you trust your brother, set up a legal partnership based in the USA, Get a free business ID from the IRS (EIN - the equivalent of a social security number). Use that to set up the Paypal account.

A straight up business partnership, with proper reporting, will likely not trigger red flags vis a vis money laundering as long as the amounts are not excessive.

Oh, and make sure you cut your brother in for enough of a share to make sure he doesn't end up with a tax bill.

As opposed to funneling money to a country with the unfortunate reputation of being a haven for scammers and other criminals by using a VPN to commit fraud...Got a couple more names for my "never do business with" list.

become partners with your brother in the sense that you give him a % of all your sales for letting you
use his paypal account to receive commissions/sales

then he can load your % into his account over at coinbase.com via paypal
and then send your money via bitcoin using coinbase

then once you receive the money in bitcoin, you can sell your bitcoin to get into your local currency

you would basically be an affiliate for your brother, he makes the sales from your efforts
    and pays you

have him check with a lawyer of course - dont give up though .. as long as you are not trying
to cheat anyone, don't give up

Hmmm... does jvzoo not do stripe payments these days along with paypal? Having recently set up stripe on one of my sites it's just such an easy way of doing things. I could be wrong but I'd definitely investigate if Stripe could be a valid option for you and that cuts out all of the hassle of your brother and paypal account in his name instead of yours.

Firstly, money can cut a lot of ties...

In a Paypal business account, you can establish other "users" and give them specific permissions.

This is great if you want a VA to do some work on your account. You can create a login and give them access to say, only the button factory. They could create and install buttons but they couldn't see or access any other areas of the account.

We have a business account in my partner's name that allows me admin access. I can do anything but delete the account.

I suggest you investigate this route.

you can establish other "users" and give them specific permissions.
    CAUTION:

Yes, you can do this with Paypal BUT it doesn't always work as you plan. If you allow "access" to someone in a non-approved country, Paypal will flag that acct quickly.

The brother can email screenshots - he can pull money out and send it to the OP in an approved manner - but any effort to allow someone in a non-approved country to access that PP acct will likely end in a frozen acct.
