Amazon Affiliate Question.

Amazon Affiliate Question:

I am planning on starting IM again. Going to focus on Amazon Affiliate primarily. I plan on making YouTube videos about products because that's what i am good at, but the only problem is that i don't know what kind of videos to make.

Right now i have 5-6 videos ranking good for Top 10 x product videos but not getting any good conversions, only managed to get around $15 in the last 2 months.

What should i do?

Top 10 of x Product?
X Product Review?
Something else..?
Any tips appreciated.

What i have done until now is making top 10 videos and linking them to my website on the video's description, which then leads to amazon. Any suggestions?

      Nope, i've never used youtube cards, but i do have a site associated with my channel, and i always link the article in the description.

      For example: Top 5 T-shirts video, and the link will have the top 5 t shirts article.

    I would look into pinterest as well as a facebook page. I would go to warrior plus and look into products by Erica Stone a.k.a. sojourn She has a couple of great pinterest products specifically designed for the amazon affiliate. As well her product extreme review will take your amazon affiliate site to the next level

    Well its a good question. This is where it starts. You got some numbers to work on. What are the top people in your niche doing for their videos. I have found powerpoint presentations to work well for me.

    These are just some YouTube video titles that may help with conversions in my opinion, since they give off the implication that there is something inside the video that they MUST see, making them feel like they NEED to take action.

    If you have/can reach the product, I know unboxing videos work good. I see a guy in a freelance website who is sending people the product free, the only thing he want is a 3-5 minute first impressions and unboxing video.

    The slideshow type videos do not attract people at all.

    When we talk about Amazon Affiliate Program - Is it the same program on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk?
    I'm planing to sign up, but I found out that only Amazon.co.uk ships items to my country (and I'm planing to write reviews on products in my native language).

      They are 2 different programs. You should sign up with Amazon.co.uk if you are going to write product reviews in your language and target your country.

    When you say you're not getting good conversions what step in your conversion chain is the issue?

    Step 1) What percent of your video viewers click on your site link?
    Step 2) What percent of your site visitors click on your Amazon link?
    Step 3) What percent of your Amazon visitors make a purchase?

    If you're not measuring these things it will be hard to improve. You probably need different strategies for improving the conversion rate in each of these steps.

    Keep in mind that your end-to-end conversion rate is likely to be very low so you will need a lot of traffic to make much money. I do not use videos so I don't have a step 1 but my step 2 is about 30% and my step 3 is about 3% so my end-to-end is less than 1%. I need more than 100 site visitors to get one order and one order only earns me about $5 so I need a lot of visitors.

    Now that you have videos already posted and ranking (keep posting them) I would approach the sellers themselves asking for products to review.

    Having the product in your hand as you review it helps tremendously with credibility.

    Many will say no or don't even reply but the few who do will help you get started. Once you have some of these videos posted and ranked approaching sellers will get easier as they will see you as a legitimate reviewer.

    Also try to post video reviews on Amazon to become recognized as a reviewer.

    Also try doing one of those "Product A vs Product B" video reviews. Conversion rate mab be slightly higher as the audience is very laser targeted. Example is " Samsung s3 vs Iphone 4 kind of videos" . have the products in the videos yourself to build trust and credibility. Slideshow videos dont cut it anymore.

    Try selling more expensive luxury products in a high-end luxury industry such as jewellery eg. top 10 engagement rings etc
