Have a Website? Here are the TOP 10 RULES FOR AN AFFILIATE MARKETING SUCCESS!

Unlike ad networks like the Google Adsense, you'll get paid when someone clicks your ad, whenever that visitors converts to a lead or not (on the advertiser's viewpoint). While on the other hand, affiliate programs only pay you when a special action is performed -- when someone purchases the product through your affiliate link

With that in mind, I present to you the:

TOP 10 RULES FOR AN AFFILIATE MARKETING SUCCESS

1. Know Your Audience

Why are these people coming to your site? What are they looking for? Can you solve their problems? SOLVING PROBLEMS = MAKING MONNIES! So make sure, whatever you promote, it's a solution to your audience's problems. You have a site about losing weight and you have affiliate ads about catnips? Hell no kitty! The more specific your solution (the product) to someone's problem, the more they convert to sales.

2. Be Trustworthy

People knows you are getting commissions when they buy a product from you. That's why promote something awesome, something legit, something that lives up to the promises you are saying with a particular product so you gain their trust. Any business will fail without repeat sales.. and to have repeat sales, you must be trustworthy. Produce genuine content that people loves so they share your stuff, they recommend you as a go-to guy, and in return you get more sales.

3. Be Helpful

Of course, don't produce crappy content. Make it detailed, useful, helpful and informative. No one's going to buy if you are just throwing affiliate links here and there without being helpful.

4. Be Transparent

It won't kill you if you have that "Affiliate Disclosure" on your website that basically says you are getting a commission whenever someone buys through your link and it won't cost them a dollar more . Make them know that they are supporting you if they will buy through your link and people will understand that. Some people are very techy, they can just clear their browser's cookies and go straight to the vendor's sales page and you won't be having a commission I know you don't want that to happen! So be transparent.

5. Split test

Always be split testing. Choose various different options for the products or services available and see what converts best. Through split testing, you maximize your results. If you can double your optin rates just by changing the styles of your sales page, then that is awesome! You double your sales too!

6. Try other programs

If this particular doesn't work well, then don't be afraid to try other ones. There's a lot of affiliate programs out there that offers different payout rates etc. It's just a google away and just choose the trusted ones. Also, there are affiliate programs who you can contact for an increase of commissions especially if you are bringing a lot of traffic to them.

7. Write Timeless Evergreen Content

Make sure you continously update your old content if they are still true to the present situations. Informations changes so fast so be sure you are adapting your contents too!

8. Consistency

There's no easy money. You have to understand that. It takes effort to build and grow any business. It seems that no one is saying this: In every goal you make, you have to be consistent on doing the things that bring you closer to your goals -- and that's true whether you are on losing weight, building muscles, or making money online.

9. Stay Relevant

Check your affiliate offers if you are using up to date ad units, designs, tools etc. Don't get left behind by your competitors! Always explore new opportunites and monitor latest trends.

10. Content Comes First

Of course you've heard Content is King. And it still is. It is the foundation of your site that can make or break your site. Produce valuabe helpful content, promote it and readers will come. Your content also determines how you'll be found on search engines so be sure you put significant efforts on that.

That's all. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope this is helpful!

To your success,

Charles

They're golden rules. We discuss over them everyday here. If possible, please bring your experience as you try to implement them. By that way, you can add more value to your posts. Execution is what matters, for example, how do you produce quality content? do they rank in SEs organically? do you manage a team for your business? etc. these types of questions and answers are what need to discuss. Good luck.

I think you're missing one major point, treat brands the same way you'd want to be treated.

I can tell you from experience I hear from affiliates all the time that want free products to review, but haven't ever sent any traffic or a single sale. Or don't even have me up on their site, or have inaccurate information.

There should be some back and forth, especially if affiliates believe in only presenting good offers.

Thanks for the input. I agree with that. Relationship matters between the affiliate and the vendor. It's for the mutual benefit.

Dang! I like that analogy man! It's true, you should go out there and promote your content. Even if you have created the best of the best content out there , don't expect thousands of people to find it automatically

But, people will often think someone with more than one online identity is untrustworthy. So, it's important to keep your aliases and niches separate from each other, and establish yourself as someone whose word is their bond, who can be trusted, who offers valuable and accurate advice in each niche, and more, so people will know you're trustworthy regardless of who you are in other places online.
Well, a lot of people do that and I think it's completely ethical to have a "fake persona" on this internet world. Many people already do that years ago on newspapers, tabloids, etc where they have a pen name and it's entirely fine.

Yeah. And because you replied, the thread got bumped on the 1st page of forums, so you basically helped me promote my signature with this lame post again. You could just report this post if you think this is lame
