Buyer's persona - highway to success in inbound marketing?

Understanding your customer is a key to formulate one's marketing strategy . Promoting your brand through various sources will probably put you among the group of successful marketers but a minor absence of communication between a client and a seller can crumble the very foundation of one's business.

You have to reach beyond the very idea of targeting a demographic but instead focus on to get a perfect profile of your target customer so that you could write content that's more effective.

But what makes up the basics of the buyer's persona? Focus on these six factors to determine that.

1. Age
2. Gender
3. Marital Status
4. Income
5. Employment Status
6. Ethnicity

Which of these things you guys think is pivotal for your own personal marketing strategy. A little insight here can enlighten many eager minds here.

Cheers-James

Those factors are only a starting point and, depending on the niche, some of them may not factor very little or at all.

Far more important to me are things like:

    > Where are they now and where do they want to be?
    > Where do they hang out, and what do they get from that?
    > Who do they read or listen to?
    > What TV shows do they watch on a regular basis?
    > What are their cultural/political/religious biases?

    Basically, what makes them tick?

BINGO! Figure out what problems keep them up at night, and what their biggest questions are.

Nice addition John. A good catch for me from this is the point regarding their reading and listening choices. Getting solid data in this category can really bump up one's marketing strategy .

Consistency and Responsiveness are the most important for me personally. Regardless if they're buyers or not, someone who buys from me twice in a one month period, is twice as valuable as someone who buys from me once in a once month period as so on. Then if you ever have a customer on your list who has only ever purchased one thing for you in all the time that they've been on your list, whilst your making other conversions on that same list, that forces you to think if you even consider them as a "buyer" anymore.

Your attitude towards your business is progressive which I like the most. It's good not to bat an eye to situations where a customer doesn't want to remain loyal to you after all that hard work. Move on and make something out of your new marketing strategy to achieve more permanent clients.

Buyer’s persona A: they are on a buyers list

Buyer’s persona B: they are not. Then the only question is
where they hang out online, the rest is irrelevant, except if the
stats say that 80% of customers are women. That matters,
now we have to find the feminine angle of the story.

Survey's are always a best old school way to go ahead. I have learned a lot about it's significance particularly in college.Always tells you how to target a specific cohort.
