Large amounts of money found at local carnival
If you think there is a recession, think again. If you think people will not spend large amounts of money, think again. If you have been blaming the economy on your poor business results, stop it.
I have found the money and it isn't hard to locate. It is in the pockets of your neighbors. Let me explain.
This week I took my family to the Ventura County Fair. I expected attendance to be low due to the current economy. It wasn't. It was packed. Thousands of hard working Americans were happily spending hundreds of dollars for quick thrills and fatty and delicious foods. You had to pay for parking, you had to pay to get in, you had pay for the rides, you had to pay to play the carnival games, and you had to pay large amounts for roasted turkey legs the size of a small house.
The carnival games always amaze me. $2-$3 to throw 1 ball at a target that is impossible to hit or get the ball in. Seems stupid but people line up to hand over their money and give it a try.
Here's my point: Even when the economy is struggling people will spend money on the things they want and sometimes on things they don't really want. The issue isn't whether there is money out there, but whether you have positioned your business or service to be what your target market really wants. I am not suggesting you add carnival games to your arsenal of services but that you learn from their example. You must have the absolute belief that people will pay whatever price you ask if they really want what you have to offer. The carnival people have no doubt that people will happily pay large amounts of money to try and win a cheap stuffed animal for their sweetie or their kid.
The questions is not whether people will pay what you want for your offer, product, or service. Rather, the question is do people really want what you are offering in the way you are presenting it. If the answer is no then change it. Find out what they really want and create a way to give it to them. Then you too can discover large amounts of money.
