Affiliate Marketing Desktop App

I'm looking for affiliate networks that allow one to advertise via ads in applications. My first idea was Amazon. However, after reading the tons of things not allowed by Amazon, I've discovered that Amazon would consider an Amazon affiliate link in desktop software to be "offline" marketing, which they prohibit. I attempted to search online without any real results. I did find a company that I've heard of before, BuySellAds. That's about the only company or ad network that allows one to link in applications.

Is it an option for you to direct your app users to your website first where you have detailed info about the offer?

Many big affiliate networks do not allow direct aff links on platforms they are not able to observe, i.e. member areas, emails, desktop or mobile apps etc.

I'm not sure and you need to double-check this, but it may be ok to add a link to a webpage in the software and on the webpage have Amazon affiliate links.

I rarely think direct links to affiliate products are the best way to go anyway. What happens if you want to change products, lose that affiliate account or want to use an exit popup or add retargeting pixels?

be careful with amazon aff links, they'll kick u out quick if you break their terms of service.

why not have a redirect link in your app to a squeeze page?

...you can romance your traffic to a sale later.

That's one of the reasons I'm leery of Amazon. I can understand if a company wants to protect their image, however, I consider Amazon to go overboard. When a company has listed more things that they don't allow than things that they do allow, then I consider it going overboard.

The idea of a squeeze page was an option I had thought of. Not sure if Amazon would consider it proper. They seem to mention quite often that they prefer links from "high quality content." I found that rather odd considering that their business is nothing but a huge online store. Rather odd to demand high quality content in order to link to an online retailer.

I don't use any desktop apps for affiliate marketing, Though I use the Moz and some extensions with browsers that really helps understanding the site's condition. That's it.
