2016 US Election: How To Profit?

Interested in what you all think here....

Let's say you don't really care one way or the other about who wins and who loses the US 2016 Election.

As an internet marketer, how would you capitilize and profit from all of the traffic?

1.) Blogging and Adsense?

2.) T-Shirts?

3.) Brian Anderson and Jeanne Kolenda do local consulting with local people

4.) Amazon Books by Trump?

I have some other thoughts...but what do you think?

What do you think?

I think you are late to the party , but I believe T-Shirts were the most successful, people who supporting either candidate probably got their ( I made T-Shirts on T-Sprint and actually got good number of sales back in May and I was late to the party myself as many sellers have been doing it since January ).

Maybe other Wearable products would have a shot ( hats ), not for Trump though, I believe most of his supports got their hats already

If you want to go with T-Shirt, I would recommend try to go with the independent parties, I believe there is a good market there, Thanks to the main 2 parties people are getting more attracted to Jill and Gary, I believe they have sufficient audience and low competition on products ( I don't believe they selling their own products as Hillary and Trump sites)

Right...I'm guessing there will be another catchy meme between now and the end though. We'll see.

T-shirts, for sure. Maybe also some mini-sites related to each candidate, with Adsense or t-shirt affiliate ads. And, of course, buying and selling related domain names, if you can get them.

I know that a couple of years back, the old Stompernet guy, David Bullock wrote his book about how Obama used social media. He went from internet marketing to hangout out on the Ivy League lecture circuit.

(Not an affiliate link)...here is his book.

The "deplorables" tshirts were online - for sale - ONE DAY after that comment made the news.

They were in flea markets and at street vendors 2 days after the comment made the news.

I heard that the Les Mis people were mad about the tie in.

I think using polling after and before the debates and monetizing off that will work. Within an hr. of the debate being over certain sites like forbes.com already collected over 350,000 votes as to who people thought won the debate. I will be ready for the next one on Oct 9th...

      I thought about this.

I don't know if I want a list of people who follow politics lol.

That being said...a consumer list would be good to have. Very monetizable with lotsa stuff.

What did you have in mind that you think they'd buy this time next year?

Funny you should ask, I started a political website back in June for just this purpose. It's a blog, with PPC type ads on it. I've had some success, but in retrospect maybe I should have marketed T-shirts...

With only 42 days to go,it's a bit late to get into making lots of money from the U.S. elections if you are now starting off.You can still make some money though.I have a political store on Zazzle,a POD(Print On Demand) site.I started designing months ago and have been seeing some decent sales.I am not affiliated with any particular party or candidate. There's something for everyone in my store whether you are a Trump or Hillary supporter.I have sold a few tees, but the things that are selling the most for me are bumper stickers, pins, yard signs and caps.

If you are not a designer but a good marketer with your own blog/website with lots of traffic, you can still make some decent money even at this point in time promoting other peoples products. For example on Zazzle, you can become an affiliate and earn 15% commission on every sale you make. There are thousands of products you can choose from to market.I have done some promoting of my designs/products on social media:Twitter,FB and Pinterest, but many of my sales have come from affiliates promoting me.

Becoming an affiliate is probably one of the fastest ways to get into the game at this late stage. The competition is huge though.Seems like everyone is trying to make a buck off the elections.

it is late, but interest in this election will only increase and as one Warrior said..after the election can be just as good as before.

But...what you're saying is right, if one had been taking advantage...even passively of all of the traffic that had been there, they'd be a a good position.

I have to think there's at least one marketer out there that bet on Trump to win and has been collecting information to put something together.

At the same time, the point that one Warrior made about Kindle is true.

      Good thoughts!

Selling tshirts or necklaces is the way to go!

Selling a Tshirt with Trump's quote on the back and his face Infront of the Tshirt... Hehehe... No matter who wins in the end, YOU WIN! Because you profit from his supporters by USING HIM! :-P haha

    Hello there,

Selling t-shirts would be great. But, isn't it too late to start now... If you think of pursuing this business, better start sooner!

    Good luck!

I read a post here a couple weeks back from a guy who claims to be profiting using clickbait phrases on social media based on trending topics. Donald Trump 's name was used in one of his examples as he is currently a trending topic online.

Maybe its something worth looking into?

For sure. I am a political agnostic and when I log into Facebook, all I get is Clickbait from both sides.

With all of the data that Facebook collects, I have to wonder if they know I haven't said one way or the other where I am on the political landscape.

But I digress...to your point, Clickbait + Adsense until the inauguration is viable.

    Think about post-election...

Crying towels for Clinton supporters will be huge.

Travel schedules out of the US for illegal aliens will also be very popular.

Guns of every description will fly off the shelves.

    Fortunes will be made...

      LOL...fortunes will be made.

      Seriously, I think you're right.

I think there is a play to be made before the election, but a for sure one to be made afterward.

Makes sense to be ready either way!

      That's interesting...and obvious I guess.

Good point. I guess a person could take a unique angle and write some stuff about Trump or Clinton.

Maybe Slice off a piece of their Platforms and do a detailed comparison.

I will check out Amazon though.

      Good share

You can use it in your MARKETING.

Just read what Al and Laura Ries says about it:

Trump vs. Clinton: The Better Candidate Doesn't Win, the Better Marketer Does

It's essentialy a Lesson of marketing.

      I get you and agree.

Although it does seem that Mr. Trump is a little more intuitive about the marketing process in this election.

Senator Clinton appears to be doing all of the "right things" and doing what the professionals tell her.

I guess we'll see which one wins out.

To your point though, there is something to be learned from Trump and Clinton from this election when it comes to marketing.

Trump appears to have simple themes with emotional appeal.

Clinton appears to make sure she's everywhere she needs to be with targeted messages.

      Good points!
