Need PDF Branding help please

Hey Warriors,

I just slaved over an open office doc setting up for branding with ViralPDF
and I came across this error when loading the finished product into the
branding tool for branding:

"The embedded font is missing important information needed for
rebranding. Please re-create your PDF without embedded fonts."

WTF does that mean? LOL

I've set up reports to be branded before.

Also, when I print the doc to pdf, the hyperlinks i created are showing the ENTIRE path
of the location of the pdf where I saved it then the actual link all as the hyperlink.

Tell me what i did wrong please.

I dont want to feel like i just wasted my Labor Day on this crap.

Thanks,
Jason

Here is the ticket you posted at my helpdesk:

    Hey,

I'm hoping you can help me since you guys are the branding experts.

    What does that mean?

I've set up reports to be branded before, so this isn't my first time.

Also, when I print the doc to pdf, the hyperlinks i created are showing the ENTIRE path
of the location of the pdf where I saved it then the actual link all as the hyperlink.

Tell me what i did wrong please and how I can correct it.

I dont have microsoft word because I am on a mac, but am running windows through vmware.

I attached the pdf I created for you to see. I would have included the .doc file, but for some reason
all the links were removed and I have no idea how that happened. I feel like such a noob

    Thanks,
    Jason
Here is the reply I posted:

Hi Jason, many thanks for your purchase

The message you're seeing pops up when viralPDF finds that some of the fonts in your PDF are missing some information that is required for rebranding. This is usually when the special string of characters was omitted from the PDF. It's not a fatal error.. all you need to do is to check that the rebranding looks ok in the final PDF.

About your OpenOffice hyperlinks.. there is a bug in OpenOffice that does not like http://-8-
To work around this you can replace the -8- tags with these:
    8- and -8
    eg:
    http://8-YourDomain-8

Also, ViralPDF runs just fine on vmware on the Mac so there is no need to worry there

    Thanks,

Sean - Thanks for the speedy reply. Didn't think I'd get one from you here, but am definitely glad you got back to me as fast as you did.

Forgot you were a warrior too

Yeah, I know it's not a Viral PDF issue. I had it on an old PC and know how great
it is, so I bought it again for my Mac.

      It's a user/open office issue.

Any idea about the link being saved as this? --> 2009-09-08_0821

(it's the full path of the location of the pdf in my harddrive, THEN the link)

      Thanks again,
      Jason

Hi Jason, yes I was surprised to see you order ViralPDF again, but now I know why

As explained, please use 8- and -8 tags instead of -8- to fix your OpenOffice hyperlink issue.
