1ShoppingCart question: Using 1 account for more than 1 business / avoiding confused customers, etc.

Hi kids!

Quick (I hope) question re: 1ShoppingCart.

If you have several businesses going on and you're using the same 1SC account for the whole shebang, and you are using PayPal to process payments, what will your customers see when they complete their transaction (on credit card statement or their PayPal statement)?

Will it say whatever email address you have connected to that PayPal account?

Or can you tell it a business name?

Or individual business names?

Just trying to figure out if I should have a generic name in there, like _____ Enterprises.

Do people get confused when they take a look at their statements and can't remember what they bought at ___ Enterprises, but they would have remembered if it said something more specific, like the name of the product?

    Don't know 1SC but using Paypal paypal on credit card statemente they'll see an abbreviation of the company name, but not the e-mail address; in the e-mail recepit they'll see the e-mail and the product name.

    I use 1shoppingcart but not Paypal, and have just one merchant account for four web sites.

    In the past, I've gotten phone calls, official queries and even one or two chargeback attempts from people not recognizing my company name on their credit card statements. So now I tell them several times before they order that the charge is going to show up on their card in the name ___.

    This helps a lot! For charges over $1000, I also get people's signatures on a form acknowledging (among other things) that they authorize the charge and that it will show up on their statement as ___.

    Your 1shoppingcart account should be set up with both your personal name and your company name on all the receipts. That's easy to take care of in the account setup settings, and if you didn't set it up that way, you can change it.
