Hurricane Matthew Vs Your Business..

I don't watch the news so I had no idea what was going on...

And to make things worse I had taken a sabbatical from social media so I couldn't even be kept up to date with current events by meme or tweet but when I finally got informed about Hurricane Matthew at first I was a little relieved that it wasn't going to hit my family in Jamaica...

...But was still very worried about how this natural disaster could effect everyone it crosses path with. It was my coaching client who also has a traditional offline company telling me about how he needs to get prepared for Matthew to hit

(Side note: I am not currently taking on or looking for any new coaching clients right now)

The hurricane got me thinking...

...Imagine you have worked your ass off for years to build up a successful business then something totally out of your control wipes it out in one swift move a natural disasters can do that..

Similar things have happened online.

many people had their whole business built on Google algorithms keeping them on page one. One swift change in Google's policies like Panda, Penguin and any other animal they named a change, Completely destroyed whole companies in the blink of an eye

So I always get a little nervous about building a business that is 100% dependant on something out of my control and you should be too... If your business is 100% reliant on Facebook, Google, Affiliates, Twitter ect then you need to figure out a way to protect yourself.

The best way I can think of protecting yourself is to have your own digital product that can sell 24 hrs a day... While you sleep, while you are on holiday... Even if a hurricane wipes out your home and you lose internet connection, you know you are still making sales of your product

It's not reliant on one promotional strategy and not one platform to be successful.

So that is the reason for this thread I am currently working on a program to show anyone
exactly how to have an in demand digital product like that in any niche in half the time with half the effort.

I wanted to ask the warrior forum family for a little help. I would appreciate ANY answer you give.

What has been your biggest frustration when it comes to online product creation?

When starting out one of my major frustrations was figuring out if the product I was about to make was even going to be in demand.

I Looking forward to reading your replies. Thanks in advance.

And if hurricane Matthew is coming near you please stay safe.

(all the resources listed here are free!)

funny, as i type this typhoon Chaba is slamming into my home in fukuoka japan..

all is well here.. that wasnt the case when hurricane Andrew hit my home back in 1992.. but i digress...

to answer your question, product creation was never a problem for me..

..traffic and understanding my analytics was always my achilles heel.

build a list and survey your audience to find what they want then create a product around that.

ask them open ended questions and focus on the long form answers..

you can create surveys with: https://www.google.com/forms/about/

    to create products:

you can turn docs into pdfs with: https://www.openoffice.org/

you can create screen capture tutorial videos with: CamStudio - Free Screen Recording Software

you can create beautiful images for your products with: https://www.canva.com/

    best of luck,

    Hey Jouvan,
First of all, Iam glad your family is not in harm's way of Matthew. Good to hear and I'm sure you're relieved.

I think just hanging around here you will get a "taste" of what will sell and NOT sell.

Peoples' problems in IM (at least ) are stated here on an ongoing basis. So just keep your ears and eyes tuned in here to see problems that would make a Product in demmand.

As far as Non- MMO niches you can go to Blog and Forums dedicated to those Subjects and do the same thing. Just observe peoples' aches and pains.

Also, I think what Ike says is good advice. Asking questions and getting feed back through Surveys from your Followers and List

I'm currently going through Hurricane Matthew as we speak haha. My biggest frustration wasn't so much the product creation side but the JV recruitment side. Without affiliates you go no where.

I totally understand what you mean since at the beginning of thus
year the government (where I am) blocked social media for a couple
of weeks and I was just thinking about those people who sell stuff
online and they totally rely on Facebook or Instagram to market and
sell and the impact this had on their business. That opened my eyes not
to rely on just one platform, even if when doing online business.

My major challenge is finding a way to sell my digital products locally
given that most people are still not very open to the idea of buying stuff
online. What's the best way to overcome this?

  • It feels better to hear that people are safe but feels really sad thinking about the destruction caused due to such storms. There are certain things in the world that we cannot control, but can definitely take preventive measures. I have a friend who lives in Florida, he told me that he takes preventive measures to be prepared for storms as the weather is non predictable. He does roof reinforcement every two to three years to protect it from leakage, keeps the yard clean, has installed Palm Beach window and door, keeps the first-aid box and necessary medicines at an easy reach and stores lots of water and good amount of food, since it is very difficult to get them during such situations. And we can always pray for the safety of our family and friends. I agree with @greatwriter that totally relying on the internet for selling the products can have a bad impact on business and hence using multiple platforms is essential.
