How can this be possible?

Hello all,

I am searching a new niche for an ecommerce website. I use Market Samurai.
I found a very good niche with low number of competing pages, and a high number of searches/clicks per day. And here is the weird stuff....
The main keyword phrase gets over 1000 clicks per day if you are #1 in Google. When I analyze the competition, I find out that the site ranked #1 for that keyword has an Alexa rank of over 8 million! The sites ranked on the 2,3 and 4 positions also have an extremely high Alexa rank, none under 2 million.

How is this possible? With a 1000 or more hits per day to have such a high Alexa rank?
Maybe Market Samurai is wrong....?
Also, the #1 site in Google is 8 years old, the #2 is 4 and # 3 is 6.

Should I go into this niche? What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
Alex

What about doing some research about how other people are doing there. If it is so good It's probable that are other who are trying this same niche.

What are they thoughts about this? Do the do well?

      I know that, "dude".
I asked because I want to know how can the #1 site in Google have such a high Alexa rank, with the main keyword phrase having such a high number of searches and clicks per day.

      Market Samurai.
Also, Google Keywords Tool says it gets 33,100 searches from US alone and 90,500 searches Globally.
