Default Website Design And Layout Best For Niche Site?

Has anyone ever tested to see which type of website design or layout converts the best for a niche site?

Do you use a header or just a headline? Do you have an articles tab on the info bar that links to a page where you have all your articles listed in bullet points or do you just list them at the bottom of your main presell page?

Do you have your tabs to privacy, disclaimer etc on the footer or on the top or on the side?

Do you use lots of nice graphics or just a plain sales letter style design?

Cheers

In my opinion there is no one right answer to this question.

Nothing is in a vacuum. Your entire business model matters.

Your entire website business is a system. And I don't mean a step by step process. I mean a system like your digestive system.

One change in your system can either improve or hurt your system.

As an example, for your digestive system - eating less processed sugar can improve your digestive system which would them improve your immune system as well.

All systems are intertwined and work together.

Nothing exists by itself.

When John Reese did the test of improving conversion by removing a graphical header...many people thought....

OK, I better remove all graphical headers from my sites now.

That was not the point of his findings.

The point was - he had a system in place...this includes his product, landing pages, offer, price, audience, followup emails, etc.

By changing this one part of his system, he improved his overall system.

You will not always get the same results because your web business uses different systems than john Reese.

You do not have the same audience, offer, product, etc.
