I bought some PLR that came to me as an exe file. I have a Mac. Is there anyway I'll be able to open this?

I thought to email a friend to have her open on her computer and send me the files, but I'm not sure if it works that way...

Love,
SHannon

Hey look at that! A fellow HI resident!

.exe is strictly a window thing, so unless you have a a windows emulator, you may be out of luck. I don't believe having your friend opening the find and then sending it to you would work since part of the reason behind .exe ebooks is to keep unauthorized sharing to a minimum.

I'm a mac guy, and VMware Fusion whenever I need to run windows apps. It works like a charm.

    Mahalo!

Yep options are wine, parallels, vmware fusion or bootcamp!

Mahalo! I'm going to try out the trial version of VMWare Fusion and look into Wine if htat doesn't work.

How frustrating. I wish they had said that it was in exe before I bought it. (I've contacted the seller, but haven't heard back yet.)

any of the virtualization tools such as parallels or Vm ot even Mac's own bootcamp work "IF " you have a copy of Windows to install and run in parallel

  • If it was me I'd ask for a refund. That the ebook is PC only should be stated clearly on the sales page. Plus, I wouldn't buy an ebook in .exe format as it's far too inflexible. Imagine not being able to print, resize, transfer to an ebook reader etc in this day and age!

I find this odd. Did you ask if the distributor had .zip files instead?

Parallels is a good program which I have installed on my mac, but its rather huge to install in order to accomplish just this one task. Its not free either.

I've written back to see if I could get it in a different format. I haven't heard yet, but it was less than 24 hours ago, so I'm not angry or anything.

Since purchasing it, I've found the same product on other sites and I've been tempted to make a purchase...but they also don't say if it's an exe!

I feel ya. I had similar situations since I am on a mac too. But I do have 2 pc's that my little ones play with so I had that covered. But I now run parallels and it works great. I am able to run all of Big Mikes programs with my mac now.

I did buy one of Russell Brunsons products which he sent as a exe once and I just opened up the file on my windows and opened properties to check out the link. I then just wrote the link down and opened it up on my mac which worked fine. I wasnt able to just copy and paste it since they had disabled the ability to do so. But it did get me a little bugged since they didnt make it known I was paying for an exe to the vids.

So maybe have someone you know with windows open it or ask someone here you trust to do it and see if they can send you the link to the files. Just a thought.
