Successful Affiliates

I see that WF has a lot of cream in terms of successful IM who are making good money via Affiliate programs.

Since I am new to Affiliate marketing, I would like to get some tips regarding this business model from the seniors. Like what are the best affiliate programs and how to go about marketing them. Any particular book that would help me know more? And things like that.

I hope I get enough knowledge from this thread soon.

When targeting keywords, focus on product names first, since the people who are tying in product names are ready to buy

Become a master at traffic/visitor generation and it's going to be hard to fail because you can correct conversion later by tracking and measuring your responses.

Focus on list building and advertise as much as possible for getting targeted traffic.

One book a lot of new affiliates seem to get good info from is the Super Affiliate Handbook. The Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner

My tip is: when comparing various affiliate programs don't just look at commission amount paid. Also try to find out what the conversion rates are. A lower commission but higher conversion rate can equal better earnings overall.

Focus on targeted, high searched, low competition keywords. Then drive traffic like crazy to those keywords by getting in the top 10 of google. Go further and dominate the first page of google through several different methods.

Make sure you have a good product with a good sales page. And make sure your keywords are really what the people in this niche are looking for.

You are only going to learn by doing. So just get out there and do it. If you mess up or something doesn't work, don't do it again.. and if something works just keep doing it!
