Is it the right time to launch a website for Westworld fans?

The answers I got for my first question/post here were definitely a pleasant surprise. Other members were thoughtful and very helpful. That's why I would like to try a new one. Not sure if it's a perfect match, but I'm really eager to know if this one can work out.

I have a friend. He runs a couple of websites, among other things, dedicated to some of the most popular TV shows you can watch at the moment. I checked his websites dedicated to TWD (The Walking Dead) and GOT (Game of Thrones). It's amazing to say at least. I mean some of the discussions go on and on. People just can't get enough. I'm not an expert, but I can only imagine what these can do to the traffic. I've noticed a catch with the top 10 this and that pages. You click and click, and click again, page after page. Again, this has to be excellent for the traffic.

Now, I couldn't help myself asking my friend, how much he gets in return. He said that it's enough. What's that supposed to mean precisely I don't know. I can only guess. So, I offered a partnership. I thought it would be a good idea to launch a new website for growing Westworld fans. I think this show is the next big thing. Yet, my friend wasn't so convinced. He said that we need to wait to see how the first season is going to be accepted. I mean, this is ridiculous we should take advantage of all the hype associated with it right now.

I said that I would like to copy his style and see how it goes with the WW show. He wished me luck. So, here I'm asking the same question again. Is it worth it? It's not a big deal to launch a website. I can do some writing myself. After all, I was the huge fan of the original movie as I have become the huge fan of the current show. My friend told me that he could recommend some of the writers he worked with on other shows.

Here's the most important question of them all. How to attract people to my WW site? How to promote it? I'm afraid that by the time I spread the word about my new website the first season is going to be long over. Rest assured that I have checked the current situation online. You can find some articles, but not the whole website dedicated entirely and exclusively for this show. I mean if there's such a thing online, I would definitely spend hours there. This way I stumble upon some articles and reviews here and there.

Finally, I'm a little bit skeptical when it comes to the return of investment, if we can call it that way. I will invest a lot of time that's for sure. Maybe some money for marketing, as well. What will I get in return? My friend launched his websites as a hobby. He was and still is a huge fan of these TV shows. He's an expert. Little by little, he developed these websites into the money making machines. How big or small these machines are? Those aren't the questions you ask your friends. At least, this isn't something I do. That's why, I would like to ask them here.

Do you mean I should associate a YouTube channel with my website?

    Hey TNT011,

I'm actually pretty obsessed with the series and started a fan club for portuguese viewers (my native language) about a week ago. I think SEO competition for english westworld sites might be a bit harder since all the major websites are blogging about the series but to honest there's a lot of traffic to be gained from social media. The problem I'm facing is that my niche is still pretty small (portuguese speaking viewers of westworld). I've been getting about 100 hits a day even after marketing it pretty hard on social media, and I don't expect my site to pass 10K visits a month but since I quite like the series I don't really mind.

Hit me up if you want some more info, I'll be happy to help.

I've watched all episodes of this show. It's a mess. I wouldn't invest a penny in what you are doing. I don't think this show will be around for very long. Just my 2.
