Stompernet 999 Launch

For weeks now I've been getting emails about Stompernet 9/9/9 and how today on September 9th at 9:09 AM how "Online Marketing Changes Forever."

Like something new and huge is going to happen.

Well, the day comes and I find out all that is happening is that Brad Fallon decided to reduce the monthly price for his Stompernet Internet marketing membership service from $700 something to $100 something.

That's a huge drop in price and obviously is a tactic designed to create a massive influx of new buyers. It's a price sale

I thought it was going to be something new but it isn't.

Reducing prices for online information products is a dangerous thing to do, because it tells the world that you need sales, makes people think the old price was too high, or that there are problems. It weakens your position in the market.

Back in 2001 I had a guy call me on the phone and tell me he had a stock picks advisory service business he was trying to sell. He said he lost over half of his members in the past few months due to the bear market and a decision he made to lower the price.

When he lowered the price he thought it would make his current customers happy and make it easier to attract new people. But it had the complete opposite effect - people who were current customers saw it as a sign of weakness. They were in effect being told the product isn't worth X that you've been paying for. That made them wonder if it was even worth the new lower price. Enough of them decided no that the guy decided to end his business.

Stompernet has been in turmoil from months and desperately had to pull off a big launch. We'll see how it goes, but lowering the price to me is a sign of weakness and suggests that Stompernet's position in the Internet marketing space is actually shrinking.

I did buy it myself early last year and found it helpful. I was a member for a month or two. I found the DVD's sent for your initial membership worth the cost of membership alone, but also little value in the monthly membership. I had no need to call and get "coached" and have people hold my hands in my business. Time doing that is better spend building your business and actually working. So I found little use in the membership part of it personally.

But if you are new you could get that info on the DVD in their "Stomping the Search Engine" course for only $1. I'm not sure, but it looks like Fallon stopped that offer, so that low priced deal didn't seem to work out well or he decided he didn't like it.

If not they are probably including it with this 9/9/9 offering. If you want to learn SEO it is worth paying just to get that and then chunking the monthly membership if you don't need coaching.

One thing that is a bit disgusting, is this AM when 9/9/9 came the site didn't load up to the sales page. It looks like Fallon is trying to play the game of pretending like you have server problems to make people get excited. This is the same thing that happened with the Arbitrage launch. There is no need to play deceptive tricks in your marketing message. It makes you look like a snake oil salesman. And it also makes it more hard for those of us that are honest and try out best to provide value harder to get customers because it makes people who feel like they are being tricked or deceived hard to get to trust you.

It's 11:05 AM and still not sales page. He'll probably load it up in an hour or two, Hopefully the launch goes well and stompernet comes out stronger than it was before, but a day of changing Internet market - nope, looks more like desperations to me.

I'd agree this is real lame.

I'd have considered looking at the product when they said it would be available but now I'm thinking they like to play games and aren't a crew I want to send my money to.

If they aren't playing games then they appear to be incompetent.

This is a tought one. As it turns out, server problems are the new "Scratch & Dent" sales. If even 1/10th of the "oops, server crashed, so I'm sending this again" were true, I'd eat my hat.

To anyone claiming that these "Server Issues" are launch tactics ... you're a complete, and total moron.

I've been involved in more big IM Launches than just about anyone out there, and know, without any shadow of a doubt, that this is NOT a launch tactic used by anyone I personally know ...

Most of you won't believe me anyway. I'm not even sure why I bother sometimes.

All of which tends to contradict the argument that they're doing this intentionally to generate sales.

    Interesting post.

If I had a dollar for every product released that was going to "change Internet Marketing" I'd probably be a super affiliate several times over.

I'll be interested to see how people react to the price drop. I would say though, whilst you clearly know what you are doing and don't need the coaching element of the program being offered, I think there are loads of people (on this forum alone) who would love that kind of training and access.

Look at how many threads we see asking for a mentor. If this kind of program can fill that role (as you seem to be suggesting) then this might well be a successful re-launch giving more people the access and attention they crave.

I agree. This is really lame.

The last thing I want to do today is refresh a page until a magical sales page appears.

Stompernet then under Andy Jenkins did a delayed launch for their Net Effect publication last Fall. Then when Fallons Arbitrage Conspiracy launched he did a delayed launch for it too claiming server issues. It actually said that hackers didn't want the info to get out on the delay page -lol.

It seems the launch is delayed because they are adding a new tool to the mix.

This launch is not to lower the membership as far as I know but to add a different level of membership to the existing one They are adding a bunch of new tools and some new courses from the new people in the faculty.

      All will be revealed soon.

Seems kind of strange to me that they would add a tool at the last minute when this entire time they have been hyping up the 9/9/9 angle. I was interested but this really seems disorganized and I think I will have to give this product launch a pass.

Personally, I can see them doing the delay launch on the other launches but I don't think they did it this time. I mean, if your entire launch is based around 9:09, then why would you delay it on purpose. That was their entire position.

I think it would piss people off that they showed up at 9:09 and got a page that the launch happens at 12:... or something along those lines.

If they did the delay launch on purpose, then I think it was a bad move on their part.

  • well they finally went live, I watched the video and don't see how this changes internet marketing at all

    1. they offer "market samurai" now that's been around for ever

    2. they offer a way to split test now that has already been simple and free (google optimizer)

    3. they lowered the price to $199

I don't see how this is compelling to join?

In fact the blah pitch for joining their 9 day free training tools didn't even get me to give up my email and I'm a sucker for that.

I'll leave it alone, just was checking things out because of the hype but turned out a bit lame.

Wait until you actually see the split testing tool - it's got a WYSIWYG interface. You look at your page, you click on something, you make a test.

Well, you get a lot more than Market Samurai (yes, its been around forever.. but it's great.. and not everyone owns it)... You get access to traffic geyser (costs about $100/monthy), all sorts of content distribution tools, all their training videos etc... There was a lot more.... and don't forget the network potential as a member.

Anyhow, I just felt your post was a bit simplified as to what Stompernet actually provides its members with.

      Kind Regards, Morten

Stompernet has been more about the Stomper live event and the networking. The education on PPC and SEO is great so at the lower price, it might be a good deal for some people who want some good SEO information. If that buys you a free ticket to the live event, grab it.

Only one better than this that poor marketers use. "Only X number of digital products available." Hell, they're digital. There is a bottomless pit of digital products. Come on guys...learn to market! Can't talk any longer, my server is down, so I might have to charge more for my voice production servers. Huh?

No true. You certainly can limit the quantity sold even if it is a digital product.

  • What's really annoyed me about the (re)launch is that there's no clear description about what you get for the money. It may well be that the combination of services available independently are well worth the $199 a month, but it just isn't spelled out. To join requires a name, e-mail and telephone number. Previous experience had taught me to never give a telephone number to a marketing company and so this is a dead end to me.

I've just signed up and it's not all too organized on the inside either. Everything is currentlly being ported to new software apparently. They do spell out what it is you get before making payment and the various levels available ($199/$499/$799?).

Knowing what I now know I'd probably hold out for a few days whilst they get through the teething issues and fully release the new tools etc. However I'm in now so it's just a matter of waiting to see where they go with it. It does sound promising if the claims are all met in a timely fashion.

Why do you think stompernet lowered the price and what does this mean for other internet marketing launches? Someone speculated to me that now other launches will be at a low price point. I think it shows that it is difficult to sustain a very high priced contuinity program in the Internet marketing niche, because it is full of people who are going to come and go. Seen it repeated many times that the average person stays in continuity for 3 months by various internet markets, that's not true in my stock market niche, but with IM you probably have many people who come and go - they just don't take action and give up, so may be that Stompernet lowering the price has nothing to do with the quality of what they offer, but with the difficulty of doing IM continuity, especially at such a high price.
