5 Things every Newbie needs to crush it on the internet in 14 days

Hello guys,

This post is targeted at folks trying hard to eke out a living selling or doing marketing online, especially if you are into affiliate marketing and stuffs like that. If you are yet to make your first $1000 and above online the first question you need to ask yourself is "What are the pro's doing that am not doing?" Believe it or not it's very easy to succeed online if you get it just right, what the guru's do is simple, once a system is successful for then in a little way, they simply SCALE IT. Simple repetition, that's about what they do, and this affords them the opportunity to make big bucks within a little time frame.

Now here are the things you need to get right to make sure you start making big bucks online in record time.

1: ATTITUDE: Attitude for me will always be number one, there's a saying in my local parlance that attitude determines altitude. How true! Your attitude to online marketing must change. The problem with most newbies is that they treat internet business differently from offline business and that is a fatal error. Until you start giving your internet business the same seriousness you accord an offline business success may be far from you. All pro marketers online treat their online businesses with the same level of seriousness they would an offline one. Change your thinking about making money and creating wealth online.

2: UNDERSTAND YOUR NICHE: To guarantee success, you need to understand your niche, you need to know what people in that market want.. this understanding will save you from heartache, Every niche has do's and don'ts and you need to accustom yourself to them to be able to navigate your way to success. Offer customers in that niche something better than what others would give them.

3: SELL A DREAM: Believe it or not , this is a proven money maker. People will always pay to buy a dream, for example lets say you are in the health and fitness niche and you choose to target ladies, ask yourself , better still ask your wife, your sister or female cousin the kind of body shape every woman wants, create or look for such products and market to them and I can guarantee to you that the kind of money you will make in a little while will blow your mind.

4: TRAFFIC, LIST AND SALES: I will start with Traffic. It can not be over emphasized, you cannot make money online if you don't have traffic coming to your offers. This traffic are prospective customers who you show your adverts. To get targeted and high quality traffic you need to advertise your services and products to where people converge. Ask yourself where do people converge mostly online everyday to interact?... the answer is social media (Facebook, Instagram,Twitter etc) and believe me the traffic you get from these sources are so powerful they can make you a millionaire overnight. The second one is called the LIST, the difference between pro marketers and the rest is that every pro marketer online has a list, your list is a harvest of customers who have showed an interest to your products and services, to build a list, you will need to get quality traffic, an email autoresponder and something called a squeeze page that enables you collect the personal data of this interested people where you can build trust with them and privately market your products to them, when you start building your list, you will need to start interacting with them explaining to them why they need your products and services and why they should trust you. Believe me, you will make more sales marketing to people in your list than general traffic. The number of people that will purchase your products from your list will be higher than if you are just sending traffic straight to your offer.

5: SCALE YOUR BUSINESS: To scale is simple, just repeat the marketing system that has worked for you in a greater and bigger way. For example, lets say you spent $50 to market your product of $10 to 1000 and you made 50 sales bringing you $500 in revenue, and $450 in profit, to scale you have to invest lets say $300 which will advertise your product to about 6000 people and if it converts at the same rate you will make 300 sales and generate about $3000. That is how easy powerful this can be and this is what all pro marketers do.

I hope this helps

Thanks Fellas

  • Short and too the point, I love it. One thing that newbies do is confuse "easy" with "shortcut". There is no shortcut no matter what someone is trying to sell you. There MAY be a way to make a quick 20, 30 or $100 but it won't be sustainable. If you follow the 'rules', don't try to beat the system and just treat it as a business (as you mentioned) success is easy. And mindset is key.

Totally agree that there is no short cut to success online and the truth is that its surprising how many newbies are comfy making just $100 a day and think they are hitting it. It makes them lazy and kills creativity.

Good article - Understanding your Niche is so important. Most people feel that they can choose any niche put up a quick funnel and start to make money.

Like you said you can make a couple of bucks but is it scalable.

Actually, there are the 5 things every newbie needs to know to have some resemblance of success:
    1. Don't spend time reading threads about crushing it
    2. Find a hungry crowd
    3. Study the hungry crowd till you understand it well
    4. Create an offer about an item that the crowd is hungry for in a form the crowd finds appealing
    5. Place offer in front of / in the path of hungry crowd.

Bonus thing: avoid people who think that simple is the same as easy.

Facebook, Google and Youtube are serving millions of users, publishing partners and advertisers around the world each day. That's what they're doing that I'm not at the moment. So, how do I do the same thing?

That's a big IF, since it's not easy to get it right, I suppose?

Okay, so when I start to successfully serve millions of users, publishing partners and advertisers around the world each day, then all I need to do is simply scale up what's working for me and do ways to repeat what I'm doing at that time, right?

I don't think that's how business works, sorry. Nothing is easy with a creative process that's unique to each person, especially when you're competing with thousands or even millions of businesses and individuals for the attention of your target audience; and

You just can't simply replicate the attitude and other traits of successful people in business, do exactly what they're doing, scale up what'll work, repeat it and wait for the money to come in record time.

Very encouraging, but not so sure its actually helpful.

Yes you said the same things that any newbee hears from every program they buy, every guru(or actual real marketer) they interact with, and every article like this they pull up on the internet.

What you didn't provide is any HOW TO information.
Particularly points 2 UNDERSTAND YOUR NICHE and 4TRAFFIC, LIST AND SALES.

Me for example with Autisim but able to function in the world. I need very specific steps, not just vague but wonderfully motivational statements.

I will say that I agree and take point 1 ATTITUDE as being the most important. I look at it like this. When I go fishing I never know if, or how long it will take for a fish to bite, then if I can actually land the fish. However I know that if I fish often enough I will catch them. Just don't give up and success will be found.

    Hello praizdon01

Thanks for taking the time to write down this short and awesome piece of content.

There are hundreds of ways to make money online. One thing remains constant among all those things, however. You need to work hard. There is no magic pill to riches online. Just like offline business, it takes effort and time to become rich. Sure, there are people out there making millions with only 5 hours of work a week, but you can bet that those millionaires have invested thousands of hours to get to that point.

    Thanks so much

Many of the 'gurus' I met didn't make a dime for 2 to 4 years. They were learning the ropes of a whole new industry and they believed in its unlimited potentiel. In 14 days they did learn fantastic stuff and the next 14 months too. And on the technical side they were setting themselves up for success. But you only make money when you sell something. And that only happens when you are able to speak the language of your niche market.

Like DAKB says and this is the key for sustainable revenues:

Nevertheless, enthousiasm at least gets you started. And you have some of the keys even though each one is a chapter (of your life) in itself.

    All the best,

I really liked this guy response to the post, I mean, the main post was good, but it keep saying the usual stuff about digital marketing that you can read all over the internet (like, fight for your dreams, and all of that).

I think you are on to something, but I think your 5 step plan needs a few more steps to really crush it. I think with your plan the best you might be able to do is kick a little ass and take a couple of names (especially with your squeeze page, good call on that!). I really feel in order to really crush it, you have to pull out all the stops and really go balls to the wall. In my humble opinion, I think #6 should be to get people to work with you, better yet you should aim to get people to PAY to work with you. Yeah, have them pay you for the right to work with you, give them software they could basically get for free, and then charge them a monthly fee for it. This will really tell you who is really committed to your vision!

#7 should be to incentivize the people who are blessed with the privilege to work in your virtual goldmine by making them work for commission only. And when they do finally bring in a sale, you should take your cut of it. After you brought them in didn't you?

#8 should be to further incentivize the people that you brought in to recruit more people who in turn bring in additional people of their own, and you should take a cut of their commissions too. After all, you created the website, brought the people in that eventually brought the others in and they should consider themselves lucky.

At the end of all of this you should have what resembles a triangle, with you at the top. This is of course different from a pyramid scheme, especially considering it's a triangle. Pyramids are 3 dimensional and this is different than that, it's clearly a triangle.

#9 is sit back and cash your checks, congratulations! You have officially crushed it!

  • More likely, most newbies won't be able to crush all these goals or even know how to do them in 14 days and that's okay. Take time to understand your niche and your audience. Learn what will attract them; how to engage them and what info gaps you can provide in your niche. FOCUS on delivering value first. It will take more than 14 days to build your content and your brand. But you need to take the first step.

Take time to know yourself too on what you need to make this work. Figure out your work schedule and how many hours a day you can give yourself to do internet marketing.

Everyone looks as the most successful online marketers and wants to replicate that success overnight, but the reality is that an overnight success only happens after a long period of preparation and a lot of sacrifices. I had one friend growing up who actually made it big and became a millionaire by the age of 20 using black hat methods of online marketing.

It's amazing that he accomplished that at such a young age, but this person had been preparing to do that for his entire life. He used a computer all the time and was really interested in the technical aspect, he went on internet marketing forums and interacted heavily to find the information and the network that he needed to move forward, he found a mentor who gave him early data entry jobs for decent money and showed him the ropes, he took risks along the way and made errors and overcame adversity.

My point is basically that yes, he was very successful and a lot of people say he was lucky, but he didn't follow a short program like this and start to crush it within five weeks. He took chances, got messy, made mistakes, watched his entire business crumble multiple times, but never gave up on what he wanted to achieve.

The thing is, you need to get involved and try different things. When you find something that works with you and is suitable for your skill set, that's when you'll begin to thrive. A lot of people get into online marketing for the money, but there's a lot of work that goes into it and if you don't enjoy it, you won't get far. I've heard of people doing volumes of tedious crap in a day or in a week that I would never have the attention span to get done - but when it comes to things that are within my skill set, I'm far more effective.

Learning this business is just as much about learning yourself. You have to figure out what you're good at, what you can do on your own, what you need to outsource and how you can add value, and that's going to take a lot of work.

I started out making my own websites, then realized I enjoyed the content creation most but didn't really enjoy SEO so I started creating web content for bigger and bigger clients and that forms the cornerstone of my ebusiness today. Figuring out what you want to be doing requires you to get your hands dirty, but when you see the results start to come, you won't be disappointed.

Thanks for the article! What I've learned a few years ago is a different perspective to selling a dream. What you want to sell people might well be what they want, but if they don't realize that, they won't buy. So, as a marketer, try to find out what your potential customers *think* they need to solve their problem. Then explain them that your product will solve *that* problem. And of course your product should solve it, but the solution could be in a different form that your customers have been expecting it to be.
