Thanks

Sorry for not being clear. I am looking for someone to design sites. Currently my site is a Wordpress one and I need to either make it a Drupal or a Joomla site. However I am worried about how SEO friendly these sites are.

I dont use Drupal, its alright but many over the years for good reason have moved from it to Joomla

Joomla is totally SEO friendly, from meta title, descriptions, keywords to your page urls.

I don't want to bash Joomla, because it is excellent.

However, I will simply say that if you need a more advanced, more powerful, more seo friendly solution, then DRUPAL wins hands down.

The people that leave drupal for joomla do so because they have not fully understood how to get the best out of drupal.

It isn't easy to learn, but with some persistance, you will learn enough drupal in 10 to 20 hours to get a nice site up.

50 hours to really start to understand it's power.

As I said, joomla is good. Drupal is fantastic.

lol the war between drupal and joomla continues

Joomla 1.5 SEO is as simple as CLICKING 2 buttons. What is hard about that?

          Hi Jon,

I think drupal won the war a long time ago

As I said, I like Joomla. It is good. But for more power, drupal is the answer.

Joomla's learning curve is a little easier and some of the templates for Joomla "look" sexier. But since version 6, getting a drupal site to look nice is straighforward and once a person learns the basics, they soon see just how much better drupal really is.

            LOL

No seriously Yeah i mean at the end of the day, do what works for you. I say give them both a go, find out what you like, find out what is easy and works

many use wordpress as its so simple and now capable of doing much more than it ever could 2 years ago.

Find what works for you and run with that..

Do you know any good Joomla designers?

Well if your want them to build from scratch a template, I pretty much guarantee you they wont. They will buy one of the ones from a template site like rockettheme and customise it as its quicker, the skelton is right there for any joomla site.

Im in rocketheme there a great community 1 to 2 templates every month that you can highly customise

Jon, thanks for your reply. In one of your previous posts, you mentioned that Joomla can pretty much do anything but there is a learning curve. Say if I get someone to design a Joomla site, would the process of posting content from then on be simple enough that I can do myself or do I have to depend on a designer to do it?

Yeah like you could go to integritylance, rentacoder, scriptlance and put up a project to have someone do the job

But i wouldnt pay someone to add content unless you are managing several sites and dont have the time to do it yourself.

Joomla uses a simple method of

    Sections
    Categories
    Articles
    Menus

For sites which are going to have a lot of content its incredibly versatile in what it can do and at the same time keeping you organized.
