Sigh...Has anyone on here ever had a Fiverr gig "denied" or suspended?

Hi all,

I'd be very curious if anyone has ever had this experience. Especially with a gig that was performing well. Well, it's happened to me recently, and pretty much killed my golden goose

What I was most appalled by is the fact that after I had a gig suspended (book reviews) I tried to recreate that good-performing one by taking a similar gig I had that had gotten some good ratings and tweaking it so it reflected the "acceptable" terms of service. That term was not posting reviews on third-party websites....which I do understand has been cracked down on recently....I was not totally unaware of this, but please do understand that I wouldn't have created a gig like this if I had not seen other sellers providing a similar service of book reviews, so I assumed nothing was wrong. I guess they must have taken a hit as well.

When I re-worked the second gig, I stated that I would provide the review in a Notepad or Word doc file for the buyer to use on his/her website, blog, social media platform, etc. I observed other sellers doing this as well so I pretty much followed that example. And lo and behold, that gig too, gets "denied".

Which leads me scratching my head and wondering if I shouldn;t just branch out into other platforms like Upwork, the one I see mentioned here, or some of the clones I have heard about like Gigbucks, Mycheapjobs, etc.

I have only been a Fiverr seller for a little over a year.....so I don't know for sure if the powers-that-be have always been this controlling, or if they've just gotten more so.

With regard to the "terms of service" not everything you see offered is a golden nugget - for example, earlier this spring, I ordered a gig from a seller whose specialty was "driving unlimited website traffic for 30 days" and later on I was sorry I did this. Thankfully it was only a $5 lesson I'm not trying to go on a smear campaign or anything but I find it irksome that people are allowed to sell gigs that promise to "drive unlimited traffic" or more "gray-hat" tasks like selling backlinks to website owners, but my book review gig gets denied.

On a more positive note I ordered a "website analysis" report from a very nice seller and I was quite pleased. But buying backlinks, traffic, etc., I am not a pro marketer but I know this is not the way to go.

I guess I'd feel better if I knew that i was not the only one who's encountered this kind of weirdness. Guess I need to scout some new canyons.

I have worked with a few data entry type guys from India and they have said they have had their Fiverr accounts shutdown for creating Gmail accounts, Google + accounts and stuff along those lines....

Why don't you to speak to Fiverr and ask them to explain exactly why your gig has been suspension/declined, when there are similar gigs still active?

Zdebx: Yeah, at one time, I may have tried to re-negotatiate on an issue or two, but it's been more trouble than it's worth. They are not one to "reinstate" a gig easily as I discovered a few months ago....I'm seeing this action as arbitrary, as there was a few time I had an image rejected for going against TOS, even though the image belonged to me and me alone. I'm going to pick my battles wisely these days.

Personally, I think they're getting a little big for their britches, for lack of a better figure of speech I am also not one to put all my eggs in one basket, thankfully.

    book reviews
There's your problem. After Amazon's lawsuit against Fiverr for paid book reviews, I'd steer very clear of that sort of gig.

Well, "britches" normally cover your ass and that's exactly what Fiverr is doing. If you were in their position, you would do the same.
