Default FaceBook Phonies -Beware

Is there anyone on this site that has actually gained a friend?? My goodness all I get are quotes of the day, and emailed advertisements? Is there anyone experiencing the same?
Don't get me wrong, there is definitely some value in Facebook, but the majority of people are just doing things so wrong! How about adding 1 or 2 friends at a time and building some relationships here...It's not about who has the highest amount of friends, it's about who has the most valued friends!

As a matter of fact, I have several genuine friends in my network on Facebook. Some of them from as far back as the early '70s.

Okay, I may be guilty of this - motivational quotes I mean - but I never did this on Facebook and I've never received ads on Facebook either. Now, Twitter on the other hand is another story.

Are you getting mixed up between the two?
On Facebook I am building relationships with my friends and my Mafia Wars friends.
Twitter is something I tried to see how big and how fast I can get a big following. For what? I don't know yet.

I use both just as a way to communicate with people on my blog!

They get updates directly when i make new posts and can see them all, plus other personal updates and information i give out.

Facebook is also cool because you can see other peoples pic's apart from their avatar here! and what they are up to :P

Its not a marketing platform for me but another method to keep in touch and help.

What I love about Facebook is that you can edit whose comments you see/don't see and also which specific things you don't want to see any comments about, e.g. how high someone scored in Bejeweled!
