Tips For Creating Landing Page

Hello. I was checking post where OP was having issues with LP and our fellow warriors helped him and his earning boosted. So I would like to invite warriors to give tips or suggestions on how to create landing page which is attractive and converting. I, myself would like to know about it.

Also for newbie is it good to outsource for creating LP?

Cheers.

    Hey Sreejai,
Is this a Landing Page per say ? i.e. One where there is a Optin Form on a Website or Blog. Or a stand along Squeeze Page ?

    That's important to distinguish

      Squeeze page to be precise.

First of all you need to decide what Software you want to use to create Sq. Pages. There are tons of them out there. Some good ones are Optimizepress, Lead Pages, WP Profit Builder etc..'

And what I would do is go take a look at some of the top marketers and their Sq. Pages to get an idea.

Big headlines with bullet points below describing the benefits of what you are giving away
( or selling in some instances) is a good direction to go

Personally, I like to keep mine short, simple, and to the point.

No need to inundate prospects with long copy on a Sq. Page. But I see people do it all the time

Thanks for sharing tips. How about outsourcing to fiverr?

I used to design my own. I've used OptimizePress and ThriveLeads. Both are extremely easy to use... But I've always found that hiring a designer makes my landing pages look a lot better and convert a lot better. I guess I just don't have the graphic design abilities.

I would look in the Warrior for Hire section here, before I hired someone from Fiverr. The prices are about the same in my experience as most landing pages on Fiver cost $25+.

What I like to include in my landing pages is...

            1. My company logo to the top left of the banner.
            2. A nicely designed banner with and eye catching graphic and a headline that makes you want to read more
            3. One or two main benefits of the user opting in on the banner
            4. An opt-in form in the banner
            5. A very short "sales pitch" below the banner that quickly lets the visitor know what they're getting and why they'd be crazy not to get it.

I don't really to post mine for fear of self promotion and I'm not sure if I'm allowed to.

But I've attached the two that I send to graphic designers as go-bys.

I have found that my best converting squeeze pages grabs the reader's attention by putting in precise figures (such as $127 instead of $100) and arousing the readers curiosity by using words like secret, new, etc....

I have also found that making the squeeze page short and to the point makes a big difference.

But the most important thing that you need to do is match your squeeze page with the ad that you use to drive traffic to your squeeze page.

If you create an ad that says " How to drive 2,222 visitors to your website for free" then you could make a squeeze page that reads "Discover my secret method for driving 2,222 visitors to any website in the next hour!"

In the above example...The squeeze page is simply an more detailed version of the ad. If people click on your add an go to your squeeze page it is a good chance that they will optin to your list.

Note: I know this sounds basic but many people don't follow such a simple rule and their conversions are low as a result.

Below is a video from Alex Becker that explains how he creates great converting squeeze pages using this method.

Make sure the copy on your squeeze page is short, simple and to the point. A squeeze page has only one purpose and that's to generate a lead. By the way,I use Optimize Press to build all of my landing pages.

Optimize press is costly if you are on low budget.

If you are new to landing pages then I would get something ready to go wordpress based or cloud based. doing so frees you to concentrate on the quality of your product and your copy.

Two we have worked with for clients recently have been Thrive (WP based) and very recently Instasuite (cloud based).

This is the Landing Page Anatomy according to Nicholas Kusmich:

    a) Top left - Business Logo
    b) Beside the logo - Main Headline (Main Benefit). Must be very congruent to what we have been talking about so far (in the ad) as webmarke already said.
    Below:
    c) On The Left - An Image of the magnet.
    d) On the right to the magnet picture - FREE + Type Of Magnet + Download. Written in CAPS but the smaller font.
    e) Right below - Name of your magnet.
    f) Below - Benefit/Support Statement
    g) Below - YELLOW Button that says "Download Now!". Yellow or Orange color buttons work best.
    h) Below - Reiteration of the button (it looks like a hyperlink), e.g. "Download My Free Cheat Sheet Now!"
    i) Footer at the bottom: Copyright@2016 Business Name / All Rights Reserved. + Links to Privacy Policy & Contact Us.

    Example below:

Things That Affect Your Conversion Rates:

    - The "Scent." Your landing should look very much like your Ad.
    - Images
    - Call To Action (wording)
    - Social Proof
    - Color of the download button
    - 2 step vs. 1 step opt-in (2 step opt-in gets better results)
    - Copy
    - Https vs. HTTP. First one gets better results because of S - secure.
    - Footer details.

QARDSIt is a unique plugin that works with most WordPress themes with the construction of the structure of the card. And it provides you with a choice of exclusive cards that are placed on canvas to create
    Landing page.

It also gives you a great front-end editor to adjust those cards according to your requirements.

With the functionality of drag and drop, as well as a wide range of customizable cards make a deadly combination, make it as strong competition on most other add-ons.

Each landing pages create respond fully, as well as mobile friendly. Another advantage is better: There's no need to design or coding skills. Completely drag-and-drop editing front feature simplifies the user experience.

Make sure your content is well written, has a CTA and is error free.

There is nothing worse that a squeeze page or landing page that is written poorly - there is no way this will convert.

I would check out a wide range of freelance sites to get your landing page created by someone with lots of experience, unless you know how to do it don't make the mistake of doing this yourself.
