The R.C.P.L. website will allow you to put in a number. I believe that after you do, it will reveal either very limited information or none at all, and ask you to pay the fee to see the info. For conversion, this probably works very well as instant gratification is $x.xx away.

The links are not natural; there are thousands of ways to build links to any page on the internet. There are ways you could get hundreds of thousands of links in weeks.

Ezine Articles allows direct linking if you buy a domain for the sole purpose of linking to an affiliate offer. It must NOT be a sub-domain and NOT an internal page. Just a PHP redirect (or 301/302 in cPanel) to the link with your affiliate code. There is a way you can use a frame to display the affiliate page, and keep the URL the same. For a standard redirect, for example, you would buy howtolookupcellphonenumbers.com, supply your host's DNS servers, login to cPanel on your host and forward the add-on domain to reverselookubabc123.com/affiliate=you.

You would see it if you entered a phone number. The way it works is that it tells you that the information about the number is or isn't available for free, but you have to pay to actually get it.

You use a top level redirect - you buy a domain, set it to redirect to the landing page, and then use the domain for the links in the article resource box. This IS allowed by Ezinearticles.

It's also helpful because if you decide that you want to start sending people clicking on the links to a landing page or another offer, you don't have to edit the original article; you just change the redirect.

However, you can make use from all data in this thread to try your self, i can share with you some tips for better article marketing that may be benefit you:-

TIP TWO: Tailor your Title – Make your title alluring and attractive. Questions such as ‘How to…’ and ‘Why’ are good for attracting the reader’s curiosity. Top Tens and Top Fives work well too. Try to place a keyphrase within your title for maximum SEO opportunity.
TIP THREE: Paragraph – Make your paragraphs short and to the point. Try to avoid paragraphs larger than five lines if you can help it. Think about writing for Internet readers who like to scan for the best bits, so make it easy for them to read.
TIP FOUR: Keywords – You should carefully and strategically plant your best SEO keywords or keyphrases throughout your articles, but it’s vital that they do not obscure the meaning of the sentences or make the article less enjoyable to read.
Don’t make the article just about the keywords; just naturally allow the keywords or keyphrases to be used throughout the article. Use a keyword tool to find the most relevant keywords or phrases to suit your needs.

When someone uses a Search Engine to find a solution, they should find your article as a potential answer to their problem. Topic choice should be driven by this philosophy.
TIP TEN: Outsource – Consider employing an article writer to produce the high quality content you need. This can often save you time and money and keeps the flow of articles coming for as long as you have the budget to pay for the service.

Right on Omar, nothing will happen until you start. I have been doing this for over 2 years never made a dime only spent money. When I finally decided to do something is when I started to make money. Just in the last few weeks I have made over $1000 on a small number of websites that I built. The funny thing is I already knew how to do this but never took action. It's when you take action things start to happen, sure you will make mistakes but learn from them and keep going no matter what.

IF you're doing top level redirects...

...how does one track CTR for individual articles on EZA?

I have stats for all my articles collectively, but that doesn't help much.

The only thing I can figure is:

* Install a redirect script, like the kind that works inside Wordpress (for example),

* Assign a redirect for EACH ARTICLE; i.e. mydomain.com/1 for article 1, and so on.

* EZA will tell you the # of views, while the redirect script stats will tell you the clickthroughs.

Can someone fill in the blanks? Is there a better way to track clickthroughs on individual EZA articles?

Login, and then you'll see the account statistics box on the right.

Click Article(s) Views - this'll bring a up page where yoy can view your clicks and views for your pen names.

Click the pen name you're interested in - this brings up a list of the articles under that name with their views and clicks listed individually.

I have known Jeremy for about 1 year when we just

You can install the add on for firefox, searchstatus. You will see a little 'q' in the bottom right hand corner once its installed. Go to the article you want to find out about and right click on the 'q'. Then you select 'show backwards links' and then 'page' and then 'yahoo explorer'. This is what I was taught. I have used it also.

I'm going to give you a quick and dirty plan here that has worked for me time and time again. More importantly, it worked for me before I "knew" anything at all really. Before I knew any "tricks" and was still extremely wet behind the ears.

I know alot of people will tell you to pick something your passionate about, but just forget about that for a bit, unless you are passionate about stuff that people want to buy.

Pick something that people are more likely to go online to buy than to walk into a retail outlet and pick up. Hopefully, that makes sense to you.

Once you have your niche, you will want to of course grab some keywords.

KEYWORD RESEARCH - Again, I'm going to go against the grain here. Forget about results in quotation marks and all that other stuff. What you want to look at is the number of sites that are actually actively competing in your niche. The easiest way to do this is to find the number of sites that are rockin your keywords inurl and inachor. I would like to get into that a little more, but honestly, you could fill up about 10 pages on it...

The other thing you want to look at is what *kind* of site that Google is ranking on the first page for your keyword. What you want to see is:

1. Article directories
2. Web2.0 sites
3. Yahoo Answers
4. etc..

Basically, you want to see the types of sites that other marketers are using to rank. If Google will let them on the first page, they will let you on the first page. The key here is to understand that the other marketers that are using those sites to rank are in most cases - Hit and runners. They throw up 500 words of content, throw 10 backlinks to it and if it ranks, it ranks. If not, they move onto the next thing.

So, your goal is to either completely overtake their ranking or to slide into a supplemental slot - Believe it or not, there is a lot of traffic to be had there. The key here is to provide updated content and some decent backlinks.

When I say updated content, what I mean is to add new posts to your 2.0 sites etc so that Google sees your content is staying fresh, unlike your competitor who probaby will never add another word to their page for as long as they live.

ARTICLE TITLES - Your article titles should be keyword rich and FULL OF HYPE. Think of the most outrageous claim that you can think of and still tell the truth and then go with it. The more outrageous it is, the more people will read it.

A good way to come up with titles is to use the hyped up bullet points from the sales pages. You will have no problem finding hype on a sales page lol

ARTICLE CONTENT - This is where it gets a little dicey. I know that the ebooks train you to write award winning stuff and to provide oodles and oodles of conent so that the reader thinks you are a rocket scientist, right? But, let me ask you this - If you give all the info in the article, why the hell would they click throuh on your resource box?

Ideally, you want to focus on pain! If you are pitching an ebook on how to find out if your wife is sleeping with the mail man. Make your content, call out the husbands pride - Piss him off. "Chances are good that your wife is banging the mail man right now" or "Do you wonder why your wife doesn't want to sleep with you anymore? Do you think it has something to do with the fact she is having sex with the mail man?"

You can do the same thing with just about EVERY single niche. I don't want to inform the reader - I want to coax them into clicking my link! They can be informed when the pay $49.99.

RESOURCE BOX - Here you want to reinforce the fact that you have the answer to their problem. I see so many people type a life history in the resource box. Do you really think the reader cares how old you are or where you went to college? Probably not! What they want to do is pay you $49.99 for an ebook to solve their problem.

So, if your pitching an ebooks that is going to show Johnny how to get rid of his man boobs, it might be something like this:

Want to get out of a b-cup and into a t-shirt? CLICK HERE!

I consistently get CTR's of 30%+ with resource boxes just like that.

There are obviously other steps here such as promoting your articles with backlinks and repurposing your content, but I think most of that stuff is talked about so often that it should be for the most part common knowledge.

Personally, I think that most new people to article marketing fail or don't do as well as they could because they are still trying to do "their fathers" article marketing if you know what I mean.

Marketing with articles has gotten more aggressive even since I started doing in in December of 2007. You really have to think outside of the box a little bit and find creative ways to get eyes on your articles. More importantly, to get as many people as possible to click on your resource box links.

I know this is kind of incomplete, but my medicine has me tired lol

I can confirm this. Don and Jeremy are correct in their statement that you don't need to have the keyword phrase in the title or body anymore.

There is a way to get Google to recognize your targeted keyword phrase without having to concentrate on placing the phrase within the article.

The biggest problem facing noobs is taking action to actually start DOING IT. It's pretty easy to say what to do but it's another to keep doing it.. consistently... even when there's days (and they'll be many) when you see no sales, little pageviews, little to no traffic and just no results.

The ones who make it through understand it takes a lot more than doing the simple 1-5 steps it takes to be successful (just because someone else said that's what you need to do).

Great posts Jeremy. That is the HOW-To aspect taken care of.... now doing the action everyday, consistently until you reach that goal? How many people can stick it out?

It took me a long time to figure out that making 1 sale from one article meant that I needed to be putting out that article everyday if I wanted to continue to make sales. But people get delussioned into thinking, because they got 1 sale per article, that means if they write 10 articles, that's 10 sales. It doesn't work like that!

As you'll find, when you scale up, the number end up ALWAYS looking worse than when you started lol. Write 10 articles, put it out there, track your results. There could be a number of reasons why you're not making money,

- Bad offer
- Wrong keywords (wrong audience or no audience)
- Terrible Resource box with terrible CTR -> little traffic to offer

Test these in batches of 10 until your numbers start to increase.

Also SPY and COPY FROM YOUR COMPEITION.

Not only in your own niche but other niches too!

Vyliss one quick question on your post are you submitting 10 articles to the same place or 10 articles to 10 different places? thanks for the help

I agree that its not an overnight success. We use it to build out tons of long tail keyword rich articles. Then its a matter of picking a good site that ranks well to post them. Best is always a guest post on an authority site. But ezinearticles, buzzle & associatedcontent are good places to start because they have editorial review that try's to screens for more quality unique content vs generic article spinning.

Jeremy hit it right on the head. Don't make article marketing more difficult than what it is. The main thing to focus on is keyword density but be careful because your content has to be readable (don't just write for the search robots). When writing content always take the "unfinished" method. Give them just enough to keep reading but if they want more information they will have to click on the link in your resource box.
