What do I mean by that? Ask yourself, why are you doing this? What is your reason?

Yea I know, to make money right? Isn't it more than that? Be honest. My why is freedom!

I built a business because I wanted to be my own boss. I thought I could have a business, and live good with the income.

The opposite happened. I ended up being married to it. Yes I have a descent income, and yes I am debt free, but I work from 5am until sometimes 6 or 7pm. Yup, no life. What good is making money, when you can't or don't have time to enjoy it. I have to deal with all the headaches of running the business, and work long hours. Being honest, I am burnt out!

I have come to the point where I am ready to enjoy the fruits of my labor. That is my why. Now be honest with yourself, reach inside and ponder.

What is your why?

Great question. I continually work on it.

Here's a great video on the topic of why WHY is important:
    My personal WHY:

I like building things and solving problems.

The WHY of my most recent venture, Signupper.net:

To help companies maintain their account signup pages for web based applications as part of ongoing Conversion Rate Optimization work.

I have been building web applications for over fifteen years and have observed a lot of conflict between business development people and engineers. One place where this conflict is prevalent is in the account signup form. It traditionally lives on the application server and is maintained by programmers. Marketing is responsible for its deign and effectives. These two groups have different priorities and often do not see eye-to-eye. I want to change that.

    Good question David!

Fun and freedom are my why's. I am being the person I am because I let my fun and freeing activities lead me, right smack dab into a life of fun and freedom. I circle the globe through blogging which feels fun and freeing to me, and I help folks mold fun, freeing lives for themselves.

When you are led by your fun, following your passions, some or even much of what you do may seem illogical, or outright reckless to logical thinkers, but these folks pull the rabbit out of the hat when 99% of people online wonder how they did it.

Make freedom your driver. Follow your fun in your IM or blogging niche. Traffic, followers, money-making ideas, prospering friendships and money will flow your way steadily when you tie your why to something fun, and freeing.

I'd probably have to say my WHY is because I want to succeed from learning about this type of stuff for 10+ years.

Another WHY would be because I see a easier way to work without killing yourself everyday at the typical "blue collar" job.

But for some weird reason, I am kind of scared of the success it may bring.
