Dark Room: The FREE Software that practically MAKES You *Focus* (Concentrate)!

Hello fellow Warriors, if you have problems with *focus* (or concentration) like I sometimes do, then the above software will definitely help you out, especially if you are taking notes or *writing articles*! This will definitely help you to get the "bright lights" and "background noise" OUT from your view, so that you can think *clearly* when writing content for blogs, articles, eBooks, you name it!

Let me know how it works out for you guys, because it certainly has been treating me well!

    LOL, I'm surprised nobody said anything about this software, because it'll definitely help you out when it comes to be more *productive* with your articles/content...

    I can see how it could help. Think Notepad Lite.

    Things I like:
    It's portable.
    It's tiny.
    It has multiple monitor "support." (You have to edit the config file to enable it - basically it will black out your second monitor.)

    Things I don't like:
    The text starts too high - there should be a top margin.
    The download link on his page is broken. I downloaded from CNet.


    I've been using RoughDraft at Bev's suggestion and like it, but this would probably help when I'm in a creative "funk."

      Yeah Mr. Kelly, this software will DEFINITELY help us out with the "creative funk", especially since it helps us to "tune out" and focus solely on writing content (and/or taking notes)!

      I hope that they *update* this software though, because the text does start *too high*...Other than that, it's cool with me!

    Concentration/Focus wouldn't be much of a "problem" anymore, either.

    Is there a word count in this program? That is what I could really use, as I am only allowed so many characters for the kind of work I do with writing...?

    and actually I believe the reason this would work so well to begin with, is because it is easiest to see green naturally. While the real green that is easiest on our eyes is lighter, it is still not a far cry off, and I believe that is one reason why this program is working so well as well... simply because the mind and eyes can identify well with it, concentration wise, because it causes the least strain as well...(according to some researchers)


    for experienced people, this program would work excellently... but for people who need other windows open, reminders, DATA and other KEYS to work... then yes, I could see this being a hassle...

    But as an article writer, this works fine, once you know what it is you should write about (and that's not hard if you are always writing on it)... so I am really loving this at the moment!!! Thanks AGAIN!

    Hey, this is a neat little app. Thanks for sharing.

    Any ideas what the 4 little icons are for, found on the right side of the screen? Don't appear to do anything for me.

    EDIT: Ah... now I see. They're scrolling buttons.. whoops! Didn't have enough text on screen to make use of that before...

    I see you can go and edit preferences by hitting Ctrl + , (comma) so you could tweak the colour if you want to.

    A few versions ago I added that to Article Architect -- you can see it in action in this short video (it's at about the halfway mark).


    And you can go into Preferences and change the colors to be anything you want.

    But recently it has been replaced by a software called Q10, which is also free but looks better for me.
