Organizing your IM Business

I have a short question about staying organized in your IM business. If you're doing websites or social media marketing or really any other type of marketing activity, chances are that you're going to have a lot of data that you need to manage. You may need to keep track of usernames and passwords for loads of different pages, keep tabs on what content is located where, know what email addresses are associated with various logins and web pages, when content is scheduled for delivery and a host of other important items.

In addition, you have to manage your actual self in terms of your workflow. When do you sleep, when do you wake up, how long do you work for, when do you take breaks and how many do you get throughout the day, and lots of other crucial things for staying productive.

Can anyone give some tips on advice on how they stay organized in their business? How do you manage all of the information that you have about your different logins or other tool so that you can quickly and easily refer to it when you need it? Do you just store everything on your computer? What if you have a failure? I'm also interested in how people schedule their day/week/month/life when it comes to ensuring that enough productivity is happening. Appreciate all of your responses!

For passwords I personally like lastpass. For task management I use Wunderlist. I use getpocket.com to save web pages. For CRM I use HighRiseHQ.

Focus on doing 1 big task a day. If all you got done was that 1 task, would you feel productive that day? Typically the thing you least want to do is the thing you most need to do. If you finish that 1 task for the day and still feel ambitious, find another task similar to the first. etc.

Long to-do lists never get done.

Thanks for your thoughtful replies. I find it very interesting that you choose to focus on one big task per day - where did you find that large to-do lists never get done? If that's the case, do you mean that that big list should just be spread out over several days?

I'm following the philosophy of planning my 3 major tasks for the following day out the night before to make sure that I walk into the office knowing what I need to accomplish every single day, but I don't know if narrowing that down to one major task would be effective for me - those other things still need to happen, right?
